In this position, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the Cafe Infrastructure at Roblox, ensuring that daily facility operations run smoothly. As a Facilities Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining multiple cafes, troubleshooting equipment issues, and developing maintenance programs. This role requires a proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is dedicated to delivering exceptional service to both internal teams and external vendors.

What you'll do

• Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance program for cafe equipment operations to ensure optimal functionality.
• Oversee the maintenance and operations of various Roblox cafes, focusing on physical space, refrigeration systems, fire suppression systems, and vendor management.
• Act as the primary technician for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing cafe equipment, aiming to minimize downtime and reliance on external service providers.
• Utilize your expertise in commercial kitchen components to address operational issues, conducting research on common problems, and determining when to engage specialty vendors.
• Work with a range of kitchen equipment, including ovens, grills, fryers, steamers, food prep tools, dishwashers, beverage dispensers, and ice makers.
• Maintain a solid understanding of building infrastructure, including electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, and refrigeration, to support cafe operations effectively.
• Troubleshoot and repair common issues related to cafe furniture, cabinetry, plumbing fixtures, and interior finishes.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance programs for both kitchen and dining areas, ensuring that repairs or replacements are executed as needed and approved.
• Foster effective communication among team members within the cafe operations, the Facilities Department, and external service providers, including janitorial staff.
• Utilize technology and software tools to enhance communication and efficiency in your role.
• Stay informed about safety regulations (CalOSHA) and health codes relevant to cafe operations, ensuring compliance at all times.
• Be prepared to work evenings and weekends as necessary, and take on additional responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in Facilities or Cafe Operations, demonstrating a strong background in the field.
• Ability to work independently and effectively with minimal supervision, showcasing self-motivation and task orientation.
• Proven track record of building strong relationships with customers and a passion for delivering excellent service.
• Familiarity with technology and the ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic work environment.
• Resourcefulness and patience under pressure, with a knack for problem-solving.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to take initiative in your work.
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Hands-on approach to operations, with a sense of urgency in responding to facility needs.
• Experience in troubleshooting and repairing various cafe equipment and systems.

Practical notes

The starting salary for this position ranges from $117,770 to $145,630 annually, depending on various factors such as experience, training, and market demand. This position is based at our San Mateo headquarters, with a requirement for onsite presence during designated hours.
