What you'll do
- Lead the complete design process for new products, guiding them from initial concept through to national launch.
- Establish and uphold design standards that encompass typography, spacing, motion, and visual coherence across products utilized by millions of users.
- Simplify complex and ambiguous requirements into user-friendly, polished experiences that inspire trust.
- Collaborate intimately with engineering teams to ensure that design intentions are accurately translated during implementation, maintaining pixel-perfect fidelity.
- Develop and sustain design systems and patterns that enhance the quality of craft across an expanding range of products.
- Evaluate and provide feedback on team design work, maintaining a high standard for detail and refinement.
- Articulate design direction and the rationale behind it to senior leadership, ensuring alignment and understanding.
- Engage in user research and testing to gather insights that inform design decisions and improve user experience.
- Mentor junior designers, fostering their growth and ensuring adherence to design principles and best practices.

Requirements
- A strong portfolio showcasing outstanding visual design skills, with a focus on typography, spacing, and polished motion and micro-interactions.
- Proven experience in delivering pixel-perfect designs at scale, demonstrating a history of successful product launches.
- Proficiency in design systems, with a disciplined approach to maintaining consistency across various platforms and surfaces.
- Capability to thrive in ambiguous, zero-to-one scenarios while upholding high design standards under tight deadlines.
- Experience collaborating closely with engineering teams to safeguard visual fidelity throughout the implementation process.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present and justify design decisions to stakeholders effectively.

Practical notes
- Base salary for Zone 1 (Menlo Park, CA; New York, NY; Bellevue, WA; Washington, DC) ranges from $191,000 to $225,000 USD.
- Base salary for Zone 2 (Denver, CO; Westlake, TX; Chicago, IL) ranges from $168,000 to $198,000 USD.
- Base salary for Zone 3 (Lake Mary, FL; Clearwater, FL; Gainesville, FL) ranges from $150,000 to $176,000 USD.
