The Staff Field Integration and Quality Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring that our vehicle components are integrated seamlessly and meet the highest quality standards. This position involves overseeing the entire lifecycle of product integration, from the initial launch phase to ongoing field operations, and requires a proactive approach to troubleshooting and enhancing product reliability.

What you'll do
- Facilitate the launch of new vehicle models and product lines, ensuring they meet quality benchmarks.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to both engineering teams and leadership to address and resolve technical challenges.
- Utilize specialized CAN tools to diagnose and troubleshoot vehicle issues effectively.
- Reproduce faults, gather diagnostic logs, decode error codes, conduct isolation tests, and identify root causes related to hardware, firmware, calibration, or wiring. Confirm resolutions through structured retesting.
- Prepare vehicles for pilot testing, activate telematics systems, and collaborate with field operations to optimize vehicle availability.
- Perform remote updates to vehicle firmware to ensure systems are current and functioning correctly.
- Revise service manuals to incorporate new insights and updates based on field data.
- Work closely with service partners to analyze and understand field failures and their implications.
- Travel to customer locations to assess and investigate failure modes firsthand.
- Develop and implement processes for analyzing incoming telemetry data to enhance product performance.
- Monitor and identify trends in product reliability and overall health.
- Provide cost estimates for necessary repairs and component replacements.
- Advocate for design and diagnostic modifications based on real-world data insights.
- Create visual data representation tools and dashboards to effectively present telemetry data.
- Conduct root cause analysis on returned components using the 8D problem-solving methodology.
- Educate technicians and service personnel on new tools, procedures, and best practices.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline is essential.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience working with embedded systems is required.
- At least 3 years of experience in new product introduction processes is necessary.
- Hands-on experience with electronics and high voltage systems (up to 100V+), including the use of multimeters, oscilloscopes, insulation testers, and CAN analyzers, is expected.
- Familiarity with service tools and their application in field operations is important.
- Experience with cloud services and their integration into vehicle systems is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of SQL and Python for data analysis and processing is required.
- Proficiency in project management and organization tools such as JIRA and Confluence is preferred.
- Understanding of automotive communication protocols including CAN, CAN FD, and SPI, along with experience using Vector tools, is beneficial.
- Ability to articulate and request new features for vehicles and cloud systems to enhance engineering efforts is essential.
- A solid grasp of powertrain and charging fundamentals, including Battery Management System principles, motor/inverter concepts, and charger protocols, is crucial.
- Adherence to testing methodologies, including DVP&R, writing repeatable test cases, maintaining detailed logs, and ensuring traceability from fault identification to resolution and verification is necessary.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time to support collaboration, site visits, and other business requirements.

- Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance in the automotive sector is beneficial.
