Relayfi provides a digital banking platform tailored for business owners, enabling them to manage their finances with clarity, control, and confidence. The Senior Product Manager, Growth, will focus on optimizing the customer journey, particularly on ensuring that new users successfully transition from the initial account opening to fully integrating Relay into their daily business operations. This role is instrumental in driving customer activation, increasing product engagement, and fostering long-term retention. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, design, sales, and marketing, to develop strategies that enhance user onboarding and lifecycle management, ultimately contributing to the company's growth objectives.

What you'll do
- Define and execute the activation strategy and roadmap, focusing on improving how quickly and thoroughly small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) adopt Relay's platform.
- Establish and continuously monitor key activation metrics that serve as leading indicators for customer retention, revenue growth, and product engagement. Use these insights to make informed, data-driven decisions.
- Develop and oversee an experimentation framework that allows testing hypotheses related to onboarding, activation, and lifecycle triggers. Analyze results rigorously and implement changes or rebuilds based on findings to optimize the user experience.
- Manage the entire product lifecycle for onboarding and activation features, from initial concept through design, development, testing, and launch. Collaborate closely with design and engineering teams to ensure high-quality, user-centric experiences.
- Address all aspects of the initial customer journey, including in-product onboarding flows, lifecycle communications, and cross-functional handoffs to support sustained engagement.
- Engage directly with SMB customers to understand their setup processes, identify points of hesitation or friction, and build trust through thoughtful product design and communication.
- Create compelling narratives and strategic roadmaps that align leadership and cross-functional teams around shared goals for activation and growth. Communicate progress, challenges, and insights effectively to stakeholders at all levels.
- Foster a culture of curiosity, ownership, and continuous improvement within the product team, encouraging experimentation and learning from data.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and customer experience teams to ensure product initiatives support broader go-to-market strategies and customer success efforts.
- Use data and customer feedback to identify opportunities for feature enhancements, lifecycle improvements, and new initiatives that drive activation and retention.
- Lead efforts to optimize onboarding flows, lifecycle triggers, and lifecycle management tools, ensuring they are aligned with business goals and customer needs.
- Work closely with engineering to understand infrastructure limitations, experiment with different solutions, and establish rigorous success criteria for initiatives.
- Advocate for user-centric design principles and ensure that product features are accessible, intuitive, and aligned with customer expectations.
- Contribute to the development of scalable processes and best practices for growth initiatives, ensuring consistency and efficiency across projects.
Requirements
- At least five years of product management experience, with a proven track record of significantly impacting funnel or lifecycle metrics in a SaaS or fintech environment.
- Direct experience with activation, onboarding, or early-lifecycle initiatives, especially in a product-led growth organization.
- Strong data analysis skills, including the ability to self-serve metrics, write SQL queries, and interpret data to distinguish meaningful signals from noise.
- Experience designing and running experiments, understanding infrastructure constraints, and establishing clear success criteria for testing initiatives.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills, capable of inspiring confidence and alignment among engineering, design, and business stakeholders.
- Demonstrated success working closely with engineering and design teams to deliver refined, user-centric product experiences.
- Experience collaborating with sales, marketing, and customer success teams to support product launches, adoption, and customer engagement initiatives.
- Ability to navigate ambiguous situations, bring clarity, and structure to complex problems or projects.
- Hands-on approach to UX flows, lifecycle triggers, and lifecycle management tools, with an understanding of how these elements influence activation and retention.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize initiatives and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Passion for data-driven decision-making, experimentation, and continuous learning.
Nice to have
- Experience working within the fintech industry, particularly involving compliance, funding, and risk controls.
- Involvement in a company's early stages and through its scaling phases, understanding the unique challenges and opportunities involved.
- Familiarity with risk and fraud prevention tools, KYC/onboarding frameworks, and their optimization.
- Experience building lifecycle or CRM systems in collaboration with marketing teams to support customer engagement and retention.
- Knowledge of ITAR regulations or other compliance standards relevant to fintech products.
