You translate raw input into structured questions, run controlled tests, and convert findings into clear guidance for product teams. Your work determines which ideas advance and which are retired.
Key facts
What you'll do
You design intake frameworks that convert scattered signals into defined questions for product teams. You construct analysis pipelines and metrics that reveal how users interact with communities and content. You review experiment outcomes to identify true impact and recommend strategic shifts. You build self-serve dashboards that let partners explore data without ongoing support. You collaborate with product and engineering to align roadmaps, ensuring insights lead to tangible results. You drive experimentation from initial hypothesis through measurement, expanding learnings beyond isolated tests. You mentor junior scientists on methods and improve team processes to scale impact. You translate complex findings for different audiences, balancing depth with actionable simplicity.
Requirements
You hold an advanced degree in a quantitative discipline or have equivalent experience. Holders of a master's degree need ten or more years solving problems in industry roles. Holders of a PhD need six or more years applying scientific methods in professional contexts. You use SQL fluently to explore relational data and create reliable metrics. You use R or Python to analyze patterns and present results clearly. You guide product strategy with data, influencing decisions without direct authority. You tackle ambiguous challenges by structuring hypotheses and testing them with evidence. You apply causal inference techniques to separate impact from coincidence. You communicate confidently with leaders and collaborators at all levels. You act as an owner, moving quickly, testing ideas, and learning from outcomes. You mentor peers and share methods that elevate data practice across the organization. You thrive in fast moving contexts, prioritizing action while maintaining rigor. You discuss complex topics with both technical and non technical audiences.
