The Senior People Manager at Recognise Bank is entrusted with the operational execution of the human capital strategy that underpins the bank's mission to serve UK small and medium-sized enterprises. This individual is the primary owner of core HR processes, translating high-level strategic direction from the Chief Operating Officer into tangible, day-to-day reality across the entire organisation. They serve as the critical link between leadership ambition and operational delivery, ensuring that all people initiatives are consistent, compliant, and aligned with the bank's purpose of strengthening business success. What you'll do
Execute the full employee lifecycle with operational excellence, from initial candidate attraction through to successful onboarding and eventual offboarding.
Design, manage, and continuously refine reward structures and compensation packages to ensure internal equity and external competitiveness within the approved budget.
Champion the development, implementation, and maintenance of people policies to ensure they remain relevant, effective, and fully compliant with UK regulations.
Own and drive performance management cycles, ensuring individual objectives are clearly set, regularly reviewed, and directly support the overarching goals of the bank.
Analyse engagement metrics and employee feedback data to identify trends, diagnose issues, and recommend actionable improvements to the overall employee experience.
Secure the right talent at the right time by partnering closely with hiring managers, defining requirements, and managing resourcing activities efficiently.
Facilitate the entire candidate journey, from managing application inquiries and coordinating interviews to making offers and ensuring a positive candidate perception of the bank.
Remove operational barriers and roadblocks that hinder team performance by proactively identifying process inefficiencies and implementing practical solutions.
Monitor key HR metrics and report on people data to inform decision-making and demonstrate the impact of HR initiatives on business outcomes.
Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing expert guidance on people strategy, organisational design, and change initiatives to drive cultural excellence.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment law and best practices to ensure all HR policies and procedures meet legal requirements.
Own communications related to people initiatives, ensuring clear, consistent, and timely messaging to the entire workforce.
Support the development and rollout of learning and development opportunities to build capabilities aligned with the bank's strategic priorities.
Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion principles through objective data analysis and the implementation of fair, transparent people policies.
Requirements
You are eligible to work in the United Kingdom without the need for sponsorship, which is a mandatory requirement for this position.
You bring a minimum of three years of hands-on experience in people operations, demonstrating a proven track record in the field.
Your experience must include demonstrated delivery across the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment to separation.
You possess specific, practical experience in handling reward, compensation, and benefits administration processes.
You have a history of managing performance management cycles and implementing effective performance frameworks.
You are experienced in managing recruitment and resourcing activities, including sourcing strategies and interview coordination.
You have a strong understanding of data analysis and its application in driving improvements to employee engagement and HR processes.
You are committed to maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive employee information.

Knowledge of the banking sector is considered a valuable asset for understanding the specific challenges and context of the business.
Practical notes
This is a full-time role based in London.
The compensation package for this position ranges from £65,000 to £70,000 per year.
