About the role
This role is a six month fixed term contract positioned within the heart of our Operations team in Milton Keynes. You will act as a critical bridge between our frontline ambitions and our technical execution, translating complex SME needs into clear, actionable requirements. The hire will own the end to end analysis of lending and operational workflows, ensuring that every solution we build is grounded in real business needs. You will be responsible for capturing, documenting, and validating detailed business requirements that drive our product and process improvements. You will partner closely with our technology and operations specialists to design practical solutions that enhance transparency and decision speed. What you'll do
Gather and interpret qualitative data from stakeholders to uncover underlying operational pain points and opportunities for process enhancement.
Perform detailed gap analyses between current state workflows and future state objectives, highlighting risks and areas for automation.
Draft precise business requirements and user stories that guide the delivery team in building accurate and testable solutions.
Collaborate with compliance and legal experts to ensure that every proposed change adheres strictly to financial regulations and internal policies.
Map end to end customer journeys to identify friction points and propose streamlined experiences that improve broker and borrower satisfaction.
Support the configuration and testing of new lending features in collaboration with product owners and technical teams.
Monitor key performance indicators to assess the impact of implemented changes and recommend iterative improvements based on data.
Liaise effectively with cross functional teams to ensure alignment on priorities, timelines, and expected outcomes for each workstream.
Translate complex banking and fintech concepts into clear documentation accessible to both technical and non technical stakeholders.
Champion best practices from the banking and technology sectors to elevate the maturity and robustness of our operational frameworks.
Own the documentation of process workflows, ensuring that all procedures are current, accurate, and aligned with business objectives.
Provide regular updates to senior stakeholders, conveying progress, risks, and decisions in a concise and professional manner.
Contribute to the maintenance of regulatory compliance documentation, ensuring that all operational activities meet required standards.
Act as a subject matter expert for the lending and operational processes, serving as the first point of contact for requirements related queries.
Requirements
You must possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience that demonstrates a comparable level of analytical capability.
You must have proven experience analysing complex business processes and documenting requirements in a banking or financial services context.
You must be comfortable working with large volumes of data and extracting meaningful insights to inform decision making.
You must have a strong understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks relevant to UK financial services.
You must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
You must be proficient in tools such as Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with the ability to create detailed documentation.
You must be able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, maintaining a high level of organisation and attention to detail.
Nice to have
Experience working within a fintech or banking environment is preferred.
Familiarity with lending products and the associated compliance requirements is advantageous.
Knowledge of agile methodologies and delivery frameworks is beneficial.
Experience using process mapping and requirements management tools is a plus.
An understanding of data analytics and visualisation tools is desirable.
