About the role
Qonto is looking for a Regulatory Affairs & Project Manager to lead its regulatory efforts and help the company grow across European markets. In this role, you will oversee strategic regulatory projects, maintain strong connections with banking authorities, support internal governance processes, and convert changing rules into clear and practical action plans. You will report directly to Alex Tribolet, who heads the Regulatory function, and become part of a team of more than 15 regulatory professionals housed within the Risk and Compliance department.

What you'll do
- Lead regulatory projects from initial scoping through final delivery, bringing together multiple contributors and upholding quality standards even under tight timelines.
- Serve as the main contact for the ACPR and Qonto's branch supervisors, developing constructive relationships and ensuring communication is clear, dependable, and timely.
- Convert complex regulatory expectations into concrete implementation plans and guide internal teams as they work through delivery.
- Represent Qonto in external settings by simplifying detailed information for supervisors, executives, and cross-functional partners without losing accuracy or credibility.
- Support the development of product governance frameworks and contribute to internal governance structures and standing committees.
- Assist with licensing activities and supervisory interactions across Qonto's French and international markets.
- Coordinate cross-functional efforts that link regulation, governance, and business transformation in a fast-moving environment.
- Help shape the company's regulatory and compliance culture by introducing new methods and continuous improvement practices.
- Work closely with senior leaders and domain experts to ensure regulatory matters are addressed with depth and precision.
- Use artificial intelligence tools such as Notion AI and Claude to improve research, synthesis, and the overall quality of regulatory deliverables.
Requirements
- Around 2 to 3 years of experience in Regulatory Affairs or Compliance, ideally at a traditional bank, a consulting firm, or a regulated fintech company.
- Demonstrated exposure to banking supervisors or involvement in strategic regulatory assignments.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to organize complex initiatives and coordinate several workstreams at once.
- A commitment to producing accurate, thoughtful, and high-quality work while continuously seeking ways to raise standards.
- Excellent communication abilities, with the capacity to adapt complex topics for a wide range of audiences.
- Professional-level French is required for all external interactions with regulators and supervisors.
- A proactive mindset and genuine curiosity, with comfort operating in a constantly shifting environment.
- Willingness to explore and adopt AI-powered tools and new technologies to make regulatory work more effective.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with data protection and ethics frameworks as they apply to financial services and regulated industries.
- Experience working on regulatory reporting matters within a banking or fintech context, including submission processes.
- Knowledge of Qonto's international markets and a solid understanding of cross-border regulatory dynamics and coordination.
- Prior exposure to internal governance committees, product governance processes, or similar oversight structures.
Skills & tools

- Regulatory analysis and the ability to translate complex requirements into actionable plans.
- Stakeholder management and relationship-building with external banking authorities and supervisors.
- Written and verbal communication skills in both French and English.

- Familiarity with banking supervision frameworks, regulatory processes, and compliance workflows.

- This is a full-time position based in Paris, with no remote arrangement specified in the listing.
- You will join a team of over 15 regulatory professionals within the Risk and Compliance department.
- Your direct manager will be Alex Tribolet, Head of Regulatory, who founded the Regulatory team at Qonto in 2021.
