What you'll do

• Lead the development and execution of comprehensive testing strategies for quantum computing products, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
• Oversee the entire testing lifecycle, from planning and design to execution and reporting, ensuring thorough coverage of all functional and non-functional requirements.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including software developers, hardware engineers, and product managers, to identify testing needs and ensure a seamless integration of testing processes.
• Manage and mentor a team of testers, providing guidance on best practices, tools, and methodologies to enhance their skills and performance.
• Establish and maintain metrics to measure the effectiveness of testing efforts and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the testing process.
• Identify, document, and track defects using appropriate tools, ensuring that issues are addressed in a timely manner and that the overall quality of the product is maintained.
• Develop and implement automated testing frameworks and tools to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness, reducing time-to-market for new features.
• Conduct risk assessments and impact analyses to prioritize testing efforts based on project requirements and timelines.
• Facilitate regular meetings with stakeholders to communicate testing progress, results, and any potential risks or issues that may arise.
• Stay current with industry trends and advancements in testing methodologies and tools, integrating relevant innovations into the testing process to maintain a competitive edge.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in software testing or quality assurance, with a strong focus on managing testing teams and processes.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing testing strategies for complex software systems, preferably in the technology or quantum computing sectors.
• Strong knowledge of various testing methodologies, including functional, regression, performance, and automated testing.
• Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++ to facilitate communication with development teams and enhance testing capabilities.
• Experience with test management tools such as JIRA, TestRail, or similar platforms to track testing progress and manage defect reporting.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to mentor team members and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality products.
• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience in the field of quantum computing or related technologies, providing a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities in testing quantum systems.
• Knowledge of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices to streamline testing processes and improve collaboration between development and testing teams.
• Familiarity with performance testing tools and techniques to ensure that products meet required performance benchmarks.
• Experience in working with Agile methodologies, enhancing flexibility and responsiveness in testing efforts.

Skills & tools

• Proficiency in test automation frameworks and tools, such as Selenium, Appium, or similar technologies.
• Strong understanding of version control systems, particularly Git, to manage code changes and facilitate collaboration among team members.
• Ability to analyze and interpret complex data sets to inform testing strategies and decisions.
• Familiarity with cloud-based testing environments and tools, enhancing scalability and accessibility of testing resources.
• Competence in using scripting languages for test automation and tool integration.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
