What you'll do
- Design and implement high-speed photonic experiments to evaluate and enhance quantum computing capabilities.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to develop innovative solutions that integrate photonic systems into quantum architectures.
- Conduct hands-on experiments, including setup, calibration, and troubleshooting of optical systems.
- Analyze experimental data using statistical methods and computational tools to derive meaningful insights.
- Maintain detailed documentation of experimental procedures, results, and findings to ensure reproducibility and knowledge transfer.
- Participate in team meetings and presentations to communicate results and contribute to strategic planning.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in photonics and quantum computing to inform experimental design.
- Mentor junior team members and interns, fostering a collaborative learning environment.
- Collaborate with external partners and research institutions to enhance experimental capabilities and share knowledge.
- Contribute to the preparation of research papers and presentations for conferences and journals to disseminate findings to the broader scientific community.
Requirements
- PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with a focus on optics, photonics, or quantum technologies.
- At least 3 years of experience in experimental research, specifically in photonics or related disciplines.
- Proficiency in optical design software and experimental setup, including lasers, detectors, and optical components.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis and interpretation, particularly in the context of photonic experiments.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or MATLAB for data analysis and automation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex experimental setups.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively share findings with team members and stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Nice to have
- Experience with quantum optics or quantum information science, particularly in experimental settings.
- Familiarity with machine learning techniques applied to experimental data analysis.
- Knowledge of advanced photonic technologies, such as integrated optics or quantum dot systems.
