About the role
Postman is the primary platform for the API-first world, serving over 45 million developers and 500,000 organizations. We are seeking a product marketing expert to define our messaging and drive the adoption of our services among developers and platform engineers. In this capacity, you will own the end-to-end marketing strategy for specific features and services to increase market penetration and user engagement. You will act as the critical bridge between the engineering team and the market, ensuring that technical functionality is translated into clear, compelling value propositions for customers. A core part of your responsibility will involve producing diverse outbound content such as blog posts, video tutorials, web copy, webinars, and social media updates to amplify our narrative. You will also create essential training materials, playbooks, and pitch decks designed to enable the revenue team to articulate value effectively. Furthermore, you will execute feature launches by coordinating closely with operational marketing teams and developing all necessary launch assets to ensure cohesive go-to-market efforts. As a key representative of the company, you will participate in industry trade shows and events to showcase our solutions and gather market insights.

What you'll do
- Lead the marketing strategy for specific features and services to increase market penetration and drive adoption among platform engineers.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to translate complex technical functionality into clear value propositions tailored for developer audiences.
- Produce a diverse range of outbound content including blog posts, video tutorials, web copy, webinars, and social media updates that resonate with technical users.
- Create comprehensive training materials, playbooks, and pitch decks that empower the revenue team to effectively communicate product benefits.
- Execute feature launches by coordinating with operational marketing teams and developing cohesive launch assets, timelines, and narratives.
- Represent the company at industry trade shows, conferences, and virtual events to engage with the developer community and gather competitive intelligence.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of market trends and competitor strategies to identify opportunities for differentiation and growth within the API ecosystem.
- Partner with sales leadership to develop strategic messaging frameworks that address specific customer pain points and use cases.
- Utilize data and feedback loops to continuously refine messaging, positioning, and content performance across all marketing channels.
- Foster alignment between product, sales, and customer success teams to ensure consistent storytelling and unified customer experiences.
- Develop detailed customer profiles and segmentation models to target specific roles such as developers, architects, and platform engineers.
- Own the creation of go-to-market plans that integrate product positioning, pricing strategy, and promotional activities for new offerings.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of professional product marketing experience or 2 years of post-MBA management or strategy consulting.
- Background in SaaS, DevOps, software, or developer tools is essential for understanding the nuances of the API platform landscape.
- Proven ability to develop product positioning and messaging that effectively communicates value to technical stakeholders.
- Experience with customer targeting, profiling, and segmentation to create precise buyer personas and prioritize market opportunities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills necessary for crafting content intended for a technical audience.
- Demonstrated capability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to industry events and meetings as required by the role.
- Base salary range: $170,000 to $210,000 plus equity.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship for this position at this time.
- Ability to commit to a full-time, in-office schedule of 5 days per week at the San Francisco location.
Nice to have
- Prior experience marketing directly to developers or technical leaders within a developer tools environment.
- Ability to create content specifically for a technical audience, including API documentation and technical blog posts.
- Familiarity with the Postman API Platform and its ecosystem of products and features.
