Progress EVM Lead

About the role

You will own the technical direction and delivery of schedule, progress, and Earned Value Management practices for large-scale capital projects and mega-program initiatives. In this capacity, you will be the primary authority on schedule integrity, ensuring that project timelines accurately reflect physical reality and contractual obligations. You will validate contractor-reported progress, performing detailed schedule forensics to identify variances, root causes, and exposure before they escalate into execution risks. You will drive data-driven decision-making by developing forecasting models, trend analyses, and performance reports that provide leadership with clear insight into project health. You will partner closely with project leadership, EPC contractors, and cross-functional teams to align controls with project objectives and execution realities. You will own the configuration and governance of Work Breakdown Structures, resource-loaded schedules, and project controls baselines to ensure compliance with EVM and Critical Path Methodology standards. You will establish and maintain progress measurement systems that enable transparent reporting and reliable decision support for stakeholders across the organization. This role requires deep expertise in integrated project controls delivery within complex environments such as semiconductor, industrial, energy, or EPC mega-projects where accuracy and rigor are non-negotiable.

What you'll do

Provide technical leadership and governance for schedule development, execution, and progress measurement across multiple concurrent projects.

Own the development, review, and maintenance of resource-loaded schedules, WBS, and controls baselines in alignment with EVM requirements and CPM principles.

Validate physical progress reported by contractors through detailed schedule analytics, progress tracking, and schedule forensics activities.

Develop and maintain progress measurement systems that support accurate forecasting, trend analysis, and integrated project reporting.

Perform schedule integrity checks and schedule variance analysis to identify risk, exposure, and potential impacts to project timelines.

Support the preparation of performance reports, dashboards, and executive summaries that communicate project status, forecasts, and key indicators.

Lead schedule reviews and interface coordination sessions with EPC contractors and cross-functional teams to resolve execution challenges.

Drive the configuration and administration of Primavera P6 environments to ensure consistency, traceability, and reliability of scheduling data.

Apply advanced analytics and forecasting techniques to project schedules to predict trends, identify delays, and recommend corrective actions.

Champion the use of structured scheduling practices, standardized WBS frameworks, and robust progress measurement protocols across programs.

Collaborate with project controls, cost engineering, and planning teams to ensure alignment between schedule, budget, and scope performance.

Provide subject matter expertise for audits, reviews, and project assessments related to schedule execution, EVM compliance, and contractual milestones.

Support the development and maintenance of project controls standards, tools, and best practices to enhance delivery reliability.

Act as a technical mentor to project team members on scheduling, progress tracking, and EVM principles to elevate overall capability.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline.

You must bring a proven track record of at least eight years of experience in project controls, scheduling, or progress measurement roles.

You must have a minimum of eight years of hands-on experience using Primavera P6 for schedule development, analysis, and reporting.

You must possess at least eight years of experience performing progress validation, trend analysis, and schedule forensics on large-scale projects.

You must demonstrate at least eight years of experience developing and maintaining WBS, controls baselines, and resource-loaded schedules in complex environments.

You must have at least eight years of experience applying EVM principles, metrics, and reporting practices within capital projects or program settings.

You must hold experience working in semiconductor, industrial, energy, or EPC mega-project environments where schedule and progress rigor are critical.

You must have a strong history of collaborating with contractors, project teams, and stakeholders to validate progress and resolve execution issues.

You must be able to demonstrate experience supporting audits, reviews, and compliance checks related to schedule and EVM performance.

You must be capable of traveling to project sites as required to perform progress validation, reviews, and on-site coordination activities.

You must be able to obtain and maintain any required security clearances or certifications as mandated by project or client requirements.

You must be proficient in Microsoft Office, data analysis tools, and reporting platforms used to communicate project performance.

You must be able to interpret and apply contractual clauses, milestone definitions, and payment verification requirements related to progress and payments.

You must have strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills to translate complex schedule data into actionable insights.

Nice to have

Preferred experience in managing schedule and progress for large-scale infrastructure, industrial, or energy capital projects.

Familiarity with project-specific contractual frameworks, incentive structures, and milestone payment verification processes.

Experience supporting projects under strict regulatory, audit, or compliance environments where documentation and traceability are essential.

Knowledge of advanced forecasting methods, risk-based scheduling, and Monte Carlo analysis techniques.

Exposure to digital tools, data visualization platforms, and automated reporting solutions used in project controls environments.
