Solution Engineer II UK/I
Job description
About the role
In this Solution Engineer II role within our Commercial organisation at Pleo, you will own the technical and accounting narrative that underpins our sales motion in the UK and Ireland. You will articulate the distinct value of our spend management solution to prospective customers, positioning Pleo as the catalyst that moves businesses beyond traditional financial constraints. This position places you at the intersection of technology, finance, and customer trust, where your expertise will directly influence revenue generation and customer acquisition. You will challenge existing sales paradigms by translating complex product capabilities into clear, compelling, and simple outcomes for finance teams and end users. You will act as a critical bridge, ensuring that customer expectations are not just met but exceeded through precise pre-sales validation and insight. Ultimately, you will drive the commercial success of our solutions by de-risking the buying process and proving the tangible impact of Pleo's platform.

The role is based in London, and you must be physically present in the chosen country.
Why this role is a good fit for you
This role is an ideal fit for you if your ambition is to directly drive revenue growth while actively minimising the length of the sales cycle for our enterprise customers. You will thrive in an environment where you can provide both technical depth and financial acumen to solve procurement challenges. If you enjoy transforming the status quo by generating actionable insights that influence product development, this position offers the autonomy to do so. You will be motivated by the opportunity to impact the future of business spending alongside a diverse, international team of over 850 professionals. This role is perfect for someone who seeks a challenge in a progressive culture that values ambition, collaboration, and kindness. You will find satisfaction in turning ambiguous requirements into clear, executable solutions that accelerate deals and create value for our customers.
This role is not a good fit for you if you prefer a position that is purely technical or solely focused on accounting without the dynamic interplay of customer interaction. If you are uncomfortable with the constant demand for customer-facing communication and the pressure to accelerate sales cycles, this role will not align with your preferences. You should not apply if you favour working in isolation, as success in this position depends heavily on cross-functional collaboration and transparent communication with stakeholders across the business. The fast-paced nature of pre-sales requires a high degree of adaptability and resilience, which is essential for long-term success here.
How you'll develop in this role
During your first three months at Pleo, you will be entrusted with leading product demos and trials that directly impact sales velocity and new revenue generation. You will work hand-in-hand with Product teams to identify gaps and propose enhancements to feature sets and integration capabilities. As you grow into the role, you will develop advanced skills in data analysis and predictive sales trending, taking on new challenges as the company continues to scale its operations. We are committed to your long-term development, providing pathways to take on larger projects, step into leadership positions, or master advanced skills in technical proposal development and risk management. This role offers a clear trajectory for growth within a supportive environment that values learning and career progression.

Please note: We can hire hybrid or in-person set-up in any of the locations listed on the advert but you will need to be physically based in the country of your choice with a valid right to work. We are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role in any of the listed locations.
