Sr. Product Manager, TwoTwenty
Job description
About the role
You will own a product on TwoTwenty end to end, from strategy through post-launch iteration, defining the vision and roadmap for one of the team's AI Experiences charters or a new zero-to-one bet. You will make the product decisions that separate a demo from a shipped product, defending the cut list and setting the quality bar so designers and engineers calibrate to your standards. You will land launches that require alignment with partner teams inside Pinterest such as AIFwd, Search, Shop with Pinterest, and ATG, getting to agreement without needing your manager in the room. You will translate a company-level thesis into a concrete product decision your team can build against, stating your product's strategy in one sentence and connecting this week's engineering work to it. You will run experiments that answer real questions, deciding when a null result is a launch signal and when a positive result is not good enough. You will use AI to accelerate exploration, drafting, and analysis in your day-to-day, prototyping concepts, comparing design options, and synthesizing user research while applying judgment and verification to protect correctness and quality. You will mentor at least one PM or designer on the team on the craft of narrowing a problem before writing the doc, elevating the standard for product thinking across the incubation group.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Own a product on TwoTwenty end to end, from strategy through post-launch iteration, picking between a substantial slice of the team's AI Experiences charter or one of the team's next bets in areas like generative creation tools, live shopping, or AI planning surfaces.
- Make the product decisions that separate a demo from a product, deciding what ships in V1, defending the cut list, and setting the quality bar on your surface so designers and engineers calibrate to it.
- Land launches that require alignment with partner teams inside Pinterest including AIFwd, Search, Shop with Pinterest, and ATG, achieving agreement without needing your manager in the room.
- Translate a company-level thesis into a concrete product decision your team can build against, stating your product's strategy in one sentence and connecting this week's engineering work to it.
- Run experiments that answer real questions, not experiments that produce metrics, deciding when a null result is a launch signal and when a positive result is not good enough.
- Use AI to accelerate exploration, drafting, and analysis in your day-to-day, including prototyping concepts, comparing design options, and synthesizing user research, while applying judgment and verification to protect correctness and quality.
- Mentor at least one PM or designer on the team on the craft of narrowing a problem before writing the doc, improving the team's product thinking and execution.
- Partner closely with design and engineering to break down ambiguous problems, define the right solution space, and deliver high-quality outcomes that move the needle for users.
- Analyze qualitative and quantitative signals to inform tradeoffs, balancing user value, business impact, and feasibility to prioritize the highest-leverage work.
- Represent the product in cross-functional discussions, communicating rationale and decisions clearly to stakeholders with diverse perspectives and expertise.
- Build and maintain a roadmap that reflects learning and changing conditions, updating stakeholders and adjusting plans as new information emerges.
- Evaluate new ideas and opportunities using a consistent framework, determining whether to pursue them as experiments, bets, or full product launches.
- Collaborate with data and research partners to design studies and interpret results, ensuring findings are actionable and tied to product decisions.
- Drive the discovery process for new features, validating concepts with users before committing to significant engineering investment.
- Take ownership of metrics that matter for the product, diagnosing issues and proposing improvements based on evidence and user feedback.
Requirements
- Minimum of 6 years of product management experience, including shipping a consumer product with an AI or ML component to at least one million users.
- Experience owning a zero-to-one product from a blank page through real user traffic, not a prototype in a deck.
- Experience saying no to a well-liked feature request from an executive and holding the line on quality.
- Experience earning the trust of a senior engineering leader on architectural decisions, and being able to describe how you did it.
- Understanding of the difference between a strategy and a plan, and the ability to state your current team's strategy in one sentence.
- Experience using AI to accelerate product exploration, competitive analysis or user research synthesis, with a clear approach to validating accuracy and quality before decisions get made.
- Committed to owning outcomes end to end, comfortable navigating ambiguity and making decisions with incomplete information.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to influence without authority and present complex ideas simply and clearly.
