Manager II, Machine Learning - Conversion Visibility

You will lead a hybrid team of machine learning and backend engineers focused on identity and conversion visibility. Your work ensures advertisers maintain accurate performance insights through privacy-conscious modeling as data signals evolve.

What you'll do

• Recruit, mentor, and manage a team of ML and backend engineers to build end-to-end systems.
• Direct the strategy and execution of identity and conversion signal models, including user matching, attribution, and deduplication.
• Partner with product, data science, and engineering leads to define technical roadmaps and business requirements.
• Coordinate with Ads Ranking, Bidding, and Measurement teams to ensure seamless integration of models and data pipelines.
• Implement engineering standards for model evaluation, data quality, service reliability, and experimentation.
• Utilize AI tools to improve model architecture and iteration speed while maintaining rigorous verification standards.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in developing and deploying large-scale production ML systems, such as search, ranking, or ads measurement.
• 2+ years of experience in an engineering management or technical lead capacity.
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Ability to commute to a Pinterest office (Seattle or Bay Area) at least 1 day per week.
• Proven track record of leading multi-quarter technical roadmaps involving complex data pipelines and backend services.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience or deep familiarity with ads conversion attribution, identity matching, or ads ranking domains.
