This position is centered on improving the user experience for financial transactions within PEBL's global platform. You will be responsible for designing and implementing intuitive, user-friendly interfaces that make complex financial interactions straightforward and accessible for users around the world. The role requires a strong focus on frontend development, with an understanding of the full technical stack to ensure integration and reliable payment processes. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including backend engineers, product managers, and designers, to build scalable solutions that enhance the platform's usability and reliability. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in frontend engineering, particularly within financial or invoicing systems, and will be committed to delivering high-quality, maintainable code that supports PEBL's growth and customer satisfaction.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, and implement new features that improve how users interact with their paychecks, financial accounts, and related financial data.
• Redesign and enhance the user interface for submitting financial details, managing monetary accounts, and performing transactions to ensure a smooth and intuitive experience.
• Build and maintain integrations with third-party payment providers to expand PEBL's payment capabilities and support a broader range of financial operations.
• Improve the customer invoicing experience by developing better data presentation, insights, and usability features that make financial management easier for users.
• Establish and document best practices for frontend development within the payments and invoicing domains, ensuring consistency and quality across the platform.
• Collaborate closely with designers and product managers to translate conceptual designs and requirements into scalable, reusable, and intuitive frontend code.
• Provide frontend expertise and guidance to a team that primarily focuses on backend and full-stack development, ensuring alignment and best practices.
• Contribute to the development of a reliable, secure, and user-friendly financial platform that meets high standards for performance and usability.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code, participating in code reviews and testing processes to uphold quality standards.
• Support ongoing improvements by analyzing user feedback and platform metrics to identify areas for enhancement and innovation.
• Assist in troubleshooting frontend issues, optimizing performance, and ensuring cross-browser compatibility for a user experience.
• Work within an agile environment, participating in sprint planning, stand-ups, and collaborative development cycles.
• Stay updated with the latest frontend technologies, tools, and best practices to continuously improve the platform's frontend architecture.
• Contribute to documentation related to frontend components, APIs, and development processes to facilitate team knowledge sharing.
• Support the integration of frontend components with backend services, APIs, and infrastructure to ensure a cohesive and efficient platform.

Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of professional experience in frontend or UX software engineering, demonstrating a strong track record of delivering complex user interfaces.
• At least 1 year of experience building frontends and API frameworks specifically for invoicing, financial systems, or related domains, or 2 or more years of experience developing frontends for domains with complex forms and dashboards.
• Proficiency in modern frontend technologies, especially React and TypeScript, with a solid understanding of how to integrate with backend services and APIs.
• Deep knowledge of frontend design patterns, frameworks, and best practices, with the ability to set standards and guide team development efforts.
• Proven experience collaborating with designers and product managers to translate concepts into functional, scalable, and user-friendly frontend code.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and deployment platforms such as AWS, and experience working with relational databases like PostgreSQL.
• Hands-on experience with container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
• Willingness and ability to work across the full stack, with approximately 80-90% of work focused on frontend and API development, and the remaining on backend and infrastructure tasks.
• A mindset that balances iterative customer impact with a commitment to building reliable, scalable, and future-proof solutions.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience working with complex form generation or validation, especially for country-specific or use-case-specific scenarios, to ensure compliance and usability across different regions.
• Knowledge of ITAR regulations or experience working with sensitive financial data, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
• Familiarity with compliance requirements related to financial transactions and data security.
• Experience contributing to open-source projects or participating in developer communities related to frontend development.
• Prior experience working in a fast-paced startup environment, adapting quickly to evolving product needs and priorities.
