About the role
The is responsible for owning the entire lifecycle of complex integration projects for strategic vertical software partners, acting as the primary technical liaison from initial discovery through production deployment and ongoing support. This role involves translating ambiguous business requirements from partner stakeholders into precise technical specifications and integration plans that leverage the full breadth of the Payabli platform. You will lead the design of tailored payment workflows, ensuring that solutions are not only functional but also scalable, secure, and aligned with Payabli's infrastructure standards. A core part of this position is driving the successful execution of go-to-market launches by coordinating tightly with sales, operations, and product teams to remove blockers and ensure partner satisfaction. You will be expected to operate with an AI-first mindset, utilizing intelligent tools to automate repetitive tasks and uncover insights that improve integration efficiency and reliability. This role requires deep expertise across the Payabli product suite, where you will become the definitive resource for APIs, webhooks, and interface configurations for both internal and external audiences. You will own the creation of production-grade reference documentation and runbooks that enable seamless handoffs to support and engineering teams long after implementation. Ultimately, you will serve as the critical "glue" that binds together cross-functional teams to deliver flawless, on-time implementations that reinforce Payabli's position as a trusted infrastructure partner.

What you'll do
Conduct in-depth discovery calls with partner stakeholders to map business requirements and translate them into structured integration plans.
Design and present tailored integration project plans that outline scope, timelines, and technical dependencies while aligning with partner business objectives.
Become a domain expert across all Payabli products, APIs, and interfaces, demonstrating fluency to both technical engineers and non-technical executives.
Leverage an AI-first methodology to innovate and optimize integration workflows, reducing manual effort and accelerating delivery timelines.
Translate complex business requirements into unique technical solutions that address the specific needs of diverse vertical markets.
Operate as the central project manager for new partner onboarding, coordinating efforts across Account Management, Operations, and Engineering teams.
Track, analyze, and report on project logs and key performance indicators to identify bottlenecks and drive continuous process improvement.
Collaborate closely with the Customer Success team to provide ongoing integration support and ensure long-term partner satisfaction.
Convert detailed integration plans into comprehensive production reference documentation for internal support teams and partner engineers.
Guide implementation best practices by working alongside the product team to pilot and deploy current fintech products effectively.
Ensure all integration designs adhere to PCI DSS 4.0 and SOC 2 security standards, embedding compliance into every technical decision.
Lead solution architecture discussions, advising on payment acceptance, issuance, and operations tooling to meet strategic goals.
Act as the primary liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders, bridging gaps in understanding and aligning on expectations.
Own end-to-end responsibility for integration projects, driving execution with an extreme sense of urgency and a relentless focus on delivery quality.
Provide hands-on technical guidance using RESTful APIs, webhooks, and modern integration patterns to ensure robust implementations.
Requirements
Must have 5+ years of professional experience in roles such as Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, Solutions Consulting, Product Management, Technical Support, or a similar capacity within a Payments or Fintech environment.
Must demonstrate a proven track record of conceiving, designing, and implementing complex technical solutions for software partners in a platform context.
Must possess a strong and practical understanding of RESTful APIs, webhooks, and modern integration patterns used in cloud-native environments.
Must have direct experience with core payment processing concepts including tokenization, PCI compliance, transaction routing, and settlement flows.
Must be proficient in at least one general-purpose programming language such as Python, JavaScript, or Ruby, with the ability to write clean and maintainable code.
Must be highly adept at using API testing and debugging tools such as Postman and curl to validate integrations and troubleshoot issues.
Must have a solid grasp of payment industry fundamentals, including acquiring, issuing, card networks, and ACH processing mechanics.
Must have an in-depth understanding of PCI DSS compliance requirements and established security best practices for handling sensitive payment data.
Must communicate complex ideas clearly and persuasively, adjusting style and depth for audiences ranging from C-Suite executives to technical founders.
Must be a self-driven individual capable of independently owning work streams, managing priorities, and delivering results with minimal supervision.
Must approach problems with a scrappy, innovative mindset, consistently seeking creative solutions when faced with constraints or ambiguity.

Practical notes
This is a remote role with flexible working hours, though it requires intense execution and rapid response to partner needs.
