This senior role focuses on building and maintaining the identity and access management systems that protect customer data and partner integrations across the platform. You will architect and deliver the core authentication and authorization services that enable secure access for internal users and external marketplace partners. You will collaborate closely with product, security, and infrastructure teams to ensure identity solutions scale reliably with global marketplace demand. You will champion security best practices and protocol standards to maintain a robust and resilient identity fabric. You will help define the technical vision for identity services that support rapid feature development and strict compliance requirements.

What you'll do
Design and implement identity and access management services using modern programming languages such as Java, Python, or Go to support marketplace integrations.
Architect and maintain distributed authentication systems that leverage protocols such as OAuth, SAML, and OpenID Connect for secure partner and customer access.
Build and operate reliable cloud infrastructure on platforms like AWS or Azure to support identity workloads with high availability and scalability.
Develop and enhance session management strategies using relational databases and distributed caching layers to ensure secure and performant user experiences.
Collaborate with security and product teams to integrate identity providers such as Auth0, Okta, or Keycloak within multi-tenant SaaS architectures.
Implement robust API design and RESTful services that enable seamless communication between marketplace platforms and identity systems.
Improve deployment reliability and operational visibility by strengthening CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation for identity services.
Monitor authentication and authorization workflows using observability tools to identify and resolve issues before they impact users.
Contribute to open source identity or security-related projects when aligned with company goals and internal governance.
Support global identity requirements by incorporating infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation for provisioning and compliance.
Requirements
Demonstrate 5 or more years of professional software engineering experience in a production setting with a strong track record of delivering reliable systems.
Show a solid understanding of identity protocols such as OAuth, SAML, and OpenID Connect and how they apply to enterprise and marketplace scenarios.
Have hands-on experience building and operating distributed systems in cloud environments such as Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure.
Exhibit proficiency in a modern programming language such as Java, Python, or Go for developing scalable identity services.
Maintain solid familiarity with relational databases and distributed caching layers to manage session data and security contexts effectively.
Prove the ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code with proper documentation to support long-term system evolution.
Display comfort working in a fast-paced startup environment where priorities shift frequently and adaptability is essential.
Bring experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation to support secure and efficient identity service delivery.
Apply working knowledge of security standards such as OWASP and common vulnerability classifications to guide secure development practices.
Show familiarity with identity governance frameworks and regular access review processes to ensure compliance and least privilege.

Bring experience with multi-tenant SaaS architectures and complex multi-marketplace integrations to support diverse customer needs.
Have hands-on knowledge of identity providers such as Auth0, Okta, or Keycloak to accelerate integration and troubleshooting.
Contribute to open source identity or security-related projects that demonstrate technical depth and community engagement.
Leverage infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation for efficient and repeatable provisioning of identity infrastructure.
Utilize event-driven architectures and message queues like Kafka or SQS to build responsive and decoupled identity workflows.
Apply understanding of data privacy regulations such as GDPR and CCPA to align identity services with legal requirements.
Draw on prior experience working with global teams across multiple time zones and regions to drive collaboration and alignment.
Practical notes
This role is based in Lehi, Utah, and requires on-site presence at the office.
The position reports to the engineering leadership team within the identity group.
