About the role

Forward Deployed Software Engineers act as the primary technical bridge between Palantir and our clients. You will operate like a startup CTO, managing the full lifecycle of high-stakes data projects while working directly with users to solve complex operational challenges. What you'll do

• Conduct deep discovery sessions with client stakeholders to map existing workflows and pinpoint critical operational inefficiencies.
• Architect end-to-end solutions that integrate disparate data sources into a unified operational picture for mission-critical decision making.
• Translate high-level executive objectives into detailed technical specifications that guide engineering teams through complex implementation phases.
• Develop and deploy custom web interfaces and data visualization tools that enable users to interact with massive information sets intuitively.
• Engineer resilient data pipelines capable of ingesting, processing, and transforming large-scale datasets across on-premises and cloud environments.
• Liaise continuously with internal product managers and deployment strategists to align software capabilities with evolving customer demands.
• Serve as the primary technical contact during live engagements, troubleshooting issues and proposing immediate remediation strategies.
• Present progress updates and technical roadmaps to client executives, ensuring alignment between technology delivery and business outcomes.
• Conduct rigorous testing and validation of software components to guarantee reliability, performance, and security in production scenarios.
• Document architectural decisions and implementation details to ensure continuity and knowledge transfer across diverse project teams.
• Collaborate with sales and professional services teams to shape proposals and scoping documents that reflect realistic technical constraints.

Requirements

• You must be able to travel across Europe 70-90% of the time to support client engagements directly at their operational sites.
• You must currently hold or be immediately eligible to obtain a NATO security clearance to access classified project environments.
• You must demonstrate professional fluency in English, including the ability to communicate effectively with executive-level stakeholders.
• You must possess a strong technical background rooted in disciplines such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, or Data Science.
• You must exhibit advanced proficiency in at least one modern programming language, including Python, Java, C++, or TypeScript/JavaScript.
• You must have substantial experience analyzing and interpreting large-scale data to derive insights and solve complex business problems.
• You must be capable of operating independently with minimal supervision while thriving in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• You must have a proven track record of delivering software solutions in challenging, dynamic, and often ambiguous project settings.

Skills & tools

• Hands-on experience with both on-premises infrastructure and cloud-based platforms, including configuration and optimization.
