Forward Deployed Software Engineer
Job description
About the role
Forward Deployed Software Engineers act as the primary technical bridge between Palantir and our clients. You will operate like a startup CTO, managing the full lifecycle of high-stakes data projects while working directly with users to solve complex operational challenges. In this capacity, you are responsible for translating ambiguous customer needs into robust technical strategies that drive measurable operational outcomes. You will own the technical narrative of every engagement, ensuring that architecture decisions align with long-term client value and product vision. This role requires you to navigate the intersection of software delivery, stakeholder management, and strategic problem-solving under tight timelines. You will mentor clients on best practices for data interaction while simultaneously challenging assumptions to uncover hidden requirements. Your work will directly influence the evolution of Palantir's platform by feeding real-world use cases back to product and engineering teams. Ultimately, you are the trusted advisor who ensures that complex deployments are delivered on schedule, within scope, and with executive confidence.
