You will oversee the product roadmap for user account identity, authentication systems, and permission architectures at a global crypto exchange. This role requires you to balance the needs of individual retail users and institutional clients while ensuring compliance and security standards are met. You will drive the integration of artificial intelligence into both our internal workflows and user-facing products to enhance efficiency and user experience. The position demands a strategic mindset to translate complex business requirements into clear product specifications. You will act as the primary owner for the User Center, ensuring alignment with broader company objectives. Success in this role will depend on your ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, regulated environment. You will collaborate closely with engineering, design, and data teams to deliver high-impact product improvements. Your work will directly influence how millions of users interact with the OKX platform on a daily basis.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Manage the end-to-end lifecycle for individual and institutional account identity and user preferences, ensuring consistency across all touchpoints.
- Develop and maintain login and authentication systems, including standard email-password, third-party integrations, and QR-based methods, alongside OKX Wallet and OAuth implementations.
- Design scalable account hierarchies and permission frameworks to support diverse business models, including enterprise and institutional use cases.
- Collaborate with institutional, compliance, and risk departments to translate growth targets into infrastructure roadmaps and standardize custom client requirements.
- Analyze support tickets, user feedback, and behavioral data to identify friction points and define solutions that improve conversion and retention.
- Lead the AI transformation of the User Center product line by integrating AI agents and automation into product workflows and user interactions.
- Define product metrics and success criteria to measure the impact of new features and system changes on user experience and operational efficiency.
- Partner with engineering teams to translate business needs into technical solutions, ensuring feasibility and alignment with platform standards.
- Coordinate with cross-functional and cross-regional teams to ensure timely delivery of product initiatives across different jurisdictions.
- Own the documentation and governance processes for account systems, ensuring clarity for both internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Conduct regular roadmap reviews and adjust priorities based on market trends, regulatory changes, and user needs.
- Serve as the internal subject matter expert on account identity, authentication, and permissions for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Facilitate workshops and discovery sessions to gather requirements and align stakeholders on product vision and scope.
- Champion data-driven decision-making by leveraging analytics tools to validate hypotheses and guide product iterations.
Requirements
- 5+ years of product management experience, with a proven track record of delivering complex products in regulated environments.
- At least 2 years of direct experience managing account systems, permission frameworks, compliance systems, or complex B2B/B2B2C platforms.
- Ability to architect systems and translate business needs into technical solutions that engineering teams can implement effectively.
- Strong data analysis skills and business judgment for prioritization, using metrics to validate decisions and trade-offs.
- Ability to manage cross-functional and cross-regional communication with internal teams and external clients, ensuring clarity and alignment.
- Proficiency in AI tools and applications, with hands-on experience using AI to enhance product workflows or user experiences.
- Fluency in both English and Chinese, both written and verbal, to communicate effectively with global and local stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of security and privacy principles, particularly as they relate to identity, authentication, and user data protection.
- Experience working in agile development environments, collaborating closely with engineering and design teams.
- Willingness to take ownership of ambiguous problems and drive solutions in a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape.
Nice to have
- Prior experience in the cryptocurrency sector, with an understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities in digital asset platforms.
- Experience leading the 0 to 1 development or re-architecture of an account system, from discovery through launch and optimization.
- Practical experience implementing AI agents or productivity tools within product workflows to automate repetitive tasks and improve decision-making.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions, particularly related to identity verification, authentication, and data protection.
- Background in building integrations with third-party identity providers or enterprise authentication systems.
- Familiarity with modern permission and role-based access control (RBAC) systems, including design at scale.
- Experience working directly with institutional clients to gather requirements and translate them into product specifications.
