What you'll do
- Orchestrate the development of visual assets that translate intricate artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, and robotics concepts into accessible materials for diverse stakeholders.
- Architect layered information into coherent visual narratives using advanced applications of illustration, diagramming, cartography, and data visualization techniques.
- Authentically represent the operational environments of military organizations, federal agencies, and defense technologies through purpose-built creative assets.
- Partner with cross-functional internal groups to convert abstract ideas and strategic priorities into concrete, high-impact visual communications.
- Administer comprehensive creative projects from the initial conceptual phase through meticulous production, guaranteeing adherence to strict quality, accuracy, and deadline requirements.
- Refine and enhance photographic elements through expert editing, retouching, and color correction, integrating government imagery and technical assets seamlessly.
- Generate files that are optimized for a wide spectrum of outputs, including print media, digital publishing platforms, large-format displays, and interactive multimedia projects.
- Curate and maintain centralized repositories of creative assets, templates, and brand standards to ensure consistency and efficiency across concurrent initiatives.
- Ensure all digital and print communications strictly comply with Section 508 accessibility standards and relevant government publishing mandates.
- Leverage AI-driven creative tools to optimize workflows, increase production efficiency, and uphold the highest level of quality control with human oversight.
- Conduct detailed reviews of visual content to verify technical accuracy, regulatory compliance, and alignment with defense sector communication protocols.
- Establish and manage production schedules that accommodate the demands of simultaneous projects within a fast-paced environment.
- Apply expert knowledge of military customs, terminology, and visual language to ensure authenticity and respect in all representations.
- Support the expansion of visual content capabilities for emerging areas such as autonomy and national security initiatives.
Requirements
- Possess a minimum of 7 years of cumulative experience in graphic design, visual communications, or closely related creative disciplines.
- Present demonstrable experience working directly with defense technology firms, government contractors, military organizations, or aerospace companies engaged in B2G activities.
- Maintain a robust portfolio featuring a diverse array of work that spans print, digital, web, motion graphics, and executive-level communications.
- Exhibit advanced proficiency in industry-standard software including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere, and Figma.
- Demonstrate a proven track record of creating diverse creative assets suitable for both print and digital media, encompassing web design, large-format graphics, and technical illustrations.
- Show familiarity with the specific visual standards, glossaries, and communication guidelines utilized by the Department of Defense and federal agencies.
- Demonstrate experience in sourcing and implementing appropriate military imagery, government photography, and official defense terminology.
- Show knowledge of developing visual materials that meet the requirements for Section 508 compliance and accessibility.
- Demonstrate proficiency in utilizing artificial intelligence tools to enhance creative workflows while maintaining rigorous human oversight and quality assurance.
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Digital Media, Fine Arts, or a comparable field based on equivalent professional experience.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and possess the eligibility to obtain a security clearance, which is a mandatory condition of employment.
- Capability to pass background checks and meet the requirements for U.S. government access eligibility.
- Willingness to comply with export control regulations and necessary government authorizations.

- Background in the design of large-format exhibits, trade show displays, and custom vehicle wraps.

Practical notes
