Nevoya is a leader in electric trucking, utilizing AI-native operations to provide zero-emissions logistics to Fortune 500 companies. This role owns the full sales cycle, guiding prospects from their first inquiry through to a fully executed contract and the successful launch of operations on our network. You will be responsible for identifying, engaging, and converting new shipper relationships while systematically expanding the contract freight volume within our national footprint. The position requires a proactive hunter who can manage multiple complex sales cycles and transform market interest into committed, profitable freight. You will act as the primary commercial point of contact, ensuring that every deal aligns with our strategic growth and operational capabilities. What you'll do
- Manage the full sales lifecycle for new shippers and 3PL partners, overseeing every stage from initial contact through to contract execution and operational launch.
- Prospect and qualify leads using Attio to build a robust and predictable pipeline that consistently feeds the top of the sales funnel.
- Lead the end-to-end RFP process, conducting detailed lane analysis and developing data-driven pricing strategies that balance competitiveness with profitability.
- Collaborate closely with Commercial Intelligence and the VP of Commercial to model costs, validate assumptions, and define target margins for new business initiatives.
- Convert spot and project freight opportunities into long-term, committed volume by identifying customer needs and positioning our network as the optimal solution.
- Oversee new customer onboarding, coordinating with operations to ensure that all lane launches meet strict operational, safety, and compliance requirements.
- Develop, document, and refine playbooks for lane launches and sales-to-operations handoffs to ensure consistency and clarity across all engagements.
- Negotiate Master Service Agreements and carrier agreements, managing commercial terms such as liability clauses, payment conditions, and performance metrics.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for all new lanes to ensure transparency and enable steady-state performance and continuous improvement.
- Utilize CRM platforms to track all stages of the sales process, providing clear forecasts and actionable insights to leadership.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve customer issues and identify expansion opportunities within existing relationships.
- Analyze market trends and competitive positioning to adjust sales approaches and uncover new growth opportunities.
- Champion the Nevoya value proposition in every interaction, emphasizing zero-emissions solutions and AI-driven operational excellence.
- Drive the adoption of standardized tools and methodologies to improve sales efficiency and scalability across the commercial team.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics or freight sales, specifically within asset-based carriers or enterprise 3PL business development environments.
- Proven history of securing new business and growing contract freight portfolios through strategic relationship management and disciplined execution.
- Demonstrated experience managing transportation Requests for Proposals and collaborating on detailed lane-level pricing and structural decisions.
- Proficiency in negotiating complex legal and commercial contracts, ensuring terms are favorable and compliant with industry standards.
- Operational knowledge of how to successfully launch new transportation lanes and manage seamless account handoffs between sales and operations.
- Ability to manage multiple enterprise-level pursuits and concurrent onboardings simultaneously without compromising quality or attention to detail.
- Strong understanding of core trucking economics, including metrics such as utilization, deadhead, and cost-per-mile, and how they impact pricing and profitability.
- Proficiency with CRM software such as Attio, Salesforce, or HubSpot, enabling accurate pipeline management and insightful reporting.
- A track record of working effectively with C-level stakeholders and influencing decision-making in fast-paced, high-stakes environments.
- Commitment to maintaining a high level of integrity and professionalism in all client interactions and internal communications.
