About the role

Overview

We are seeking a Staff Engineer in Hyderabad to join the engineering team. In this role, you will set technical direction across both front-end and back-end systems, helping shape the architecture, performance, reliability, and user experience of our learning platform. You will provide hands-on technical leadership across squads, partner closely with Product and Design, and drive the development of scalable, secure-by-default, AI-powered customer experiences. This is a high-impact role for an engineer who can move fluidly across the stack, from high-traffic user interfaces to high-scale services, while mentoring engineers and raising the technical bar across the organization.

Role context

You define architecture and delivery for AI learning systems while guiding squads across front-end and back-end flows. You mentor peers on quality and security, translating product intent into production-ready solutions. Your work directly shapes how millions experience adaptive education at scale.

Responsibilities

• Architect scalable services that power adaptive learning journeys while mentoring engineers on best practices.
• Design intuitive user flows balancing performance, reliability, and clarity for students and instructors everywhere.
• Champion secure-by-default features ensuring data protection remains central to every release decision.
• Drive experiments that test AI enhancements, turning findings into measurable improvements in learning outcomes.
• Coordinate with analytics teams to validate hypotheses, refine metrics, and iterate on shipping strategies.
• Establish standards for API contracts, enabling resilient integrations across education ecosystems.
• Guide product teams on feasibility, turning ambiguous requirements into clear technical specifications.
• Own end-to-end delivery, aligning design, infrastructure, and operations for timely, high-quality releases.

Requirements

• You must have hands-on experience directing full-stack projects spanning interface design to service scalability.
• You must write production-grade code, demonstrating mastery of languages and tools used in our environment.
• You must communicate clearly with diverse stakeholders, translating complex topics into actionable plans.
• You must understand data privacy implications, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and policies.

• Experience in education technology or tutoring platforms.
