Senior Product Designer
Job description
About the role
The is responsible for defining the strategic design direction for the core Mutiny platform, ensuring that the end-to-end experience feels cohesive and intentional from the very first interaction with the creative agent to the final published asset. You will own the critical WHAT WE'RE BUILDING initiatives that directly shape the future of go-to-market workflows, focusing on designing new surfaces and thoughtfully reimagining existing ones to maximize strategic impact. In this role, you will actively explore and define THE OPPORTUNITY space where design can solve the hardest problems for customers, pushing beyond feature reception into true product ownership. You will also deeply engage in WHAT YOU'LL OWN across the entire product lifecycle, taking responsibility for the nuances of the end-to-end product journey and ensuring every touchpoint aligns with a clear vision. This means you will design not just isolated screens but the entire workflow, specifically targeting how AI can automate tedious parts of GTM execution so that human customers can dedicate their time to high-level strategy and creativity. A core part of the role involves building Taste as a System, which requires you to curate what good looks like for Mutiny, establish robust feedback loops, and make timely decisions on what ships and what does not to maintain a sharp creative direction. You will be the steward of The Design System, creating and maintaining the components, patterns, and guardrails that allow product and engineering to ship quality work rapidly and without constant oversight, ensuring velocity and consistency. Furthermore, you will function as a core product strategist who refuses to be a passive feature receiver, choosing instead to be in the room during critical discussions to shape the vision and collaborate with engineers before any line of code is written. You must be a builder who has shipped real products, demonstrating the ability to take ambiguous problems, find the right solution architecture, and launch something that real users value and rely on. Finally, you will be expected to sharpen the entire room by developing a clear point of view on the intersection of AI and creativity, articulating what makes AI-generated output feel human and intentional versus generic and hollow, and these questions will serve as the primary fuel for your innovation.
Key facts
What you'll do
- You will WHAT WE'RE BUILDING by architecting the user journey for the next generation of Mutiny's core platform, translating ambiguous business goals into coherent design systems and interactive prototypes.
- You will THE OPPORTUNITY to identify and own underserved segments of the product landscape, conducting deep user research to uncover unmet needs and translate them into strategic design opportunities.
- You will WHAT YOU'LL OWN end-to-end, meaning you will shepherd ideas from initial concept through detailed design validation and final implementation, taking full responsibility for the user outcome.
- You will master The End-to-End Product, mapping every touchpoint from the first interaction with the creative agent to the final published asset, and you will design new surfaces while rigorously rethinking existing ones to eliminate friction.
- You will build and maintain Taste as a System, curating the aesthetic and functional language of good design, establishing feedback loops with users and stakeholders, and deciding iteratively what should ship based on evidence and product principles.
- You will evolve The Design System by creating scalable components, robust patterns, and strict guardrails that empower product and engineering teams to deliver high-quality work at speed, even when you are not in the meeting.
- You will define Product Strategy with authority, challenging assumptions early, pushing back when concepts lack clarity or alignment, and proactively pulling engineers into collaborative design discussions before any screens are built.
- You will WHO YOU ARE by bringing a proven track record of shipping complex products, demonstrating through your portfolio that you can navigate ambiguity, solve for the core problem, and release solutions that users adopt and love.
- You will champion a distinct point of view on AI and Creativity, analyzing where artificial intelligence should drive efficiency and where human judgment must lead, and you will clearly articulate the difference between work that feels inspiring and work that feels generic.
- You will partner closely with data and research teams to synthesize findings, using quantitative and qualitative signals to validate design decisions and ensure that the product continuously improves in the right direction.
- You will act as the primary advocate for the user within the engineering organization, ensuring that usability, accessibility, and delight are non-negotiable constraints throughout the development lifecycle.
- You will break down complex GTM workflows into manageable design challenges, identifying opportunities for AI to automate repetitive tasks so that customers can focus on strategic, high-value activities.
- You will communicate with extreme clarity across disciplines, using design artifacts like flows, systems, and prototypes to align stakeholders and build shared understanding around the product vision.
- You will continuously benchmark the competitive landscape and emerging design tools, ensuring that Mutiny remains at the forefront of both design thinking and technical execution in the GTM automation space.
- You will mentor and influence other designers and product builders by sharing your process, setting a high bar for craftsmanship, and encouraging experimentation within the team.
- You will manage your time and priorities in a fast-paced environment, balancing long-term strategic design work with urgent tactical requests without compromising the quality of your output.
Requirements
- You must be obsessively about craft, sweating the 4px decisions and refusing to ship anything that is merely "fine," because you understand that small details compound poorly when ignored.
- You must position yourself as a builder who prototypes relentlessly, ships side projects, and maintains a broad AI toolkit, always choosing to make a tangible thing over writing lengthy strategic documents.
- You must be a systems thinker who can identify patterns across disparate features and create shared foundations that elevate the entire product, rather than solving problems in isolation one screen at a time.
- You must be capable of sharpening the room, which means you will actively shape product strategy, challenge ideas that feel off, and proactively pull engineers into design conversations before there is any visual artifact to critique.
- You must have a strong command of the core tools required for the role, specifically React and Go, using them to prototype, validate, and communicate your design intent directly with engineering.
- You must have shipped at least one significant product to market, proving that you can handle end-to-end ownership, ambiguity, and the pressure of real-world user expectations.
- You must hold a strong point of view on the role of AI in the creative process, able to distinguish between output that resonates emotionally and output that feels hollow or automated.
- You must be comfortable making high-stakes decisions with incomplete information, trusting your intuition and evidence to guide the product direction when data is sparse.
