Senior Manager, M&A Integration
Job description
About the role
MongoDB is hiring a Senior Manager, M&A Integration to help build and run the operational backbone for how MongoDB integrates its acquisitions, translating each deal thesis into a durable business outcome. In this role, you will own the end-to-end integration of assigned acquisitions, ensuring that the strategic value defined during diligence is realized post-close. You will act as the operational backbone for the Integration Management Office, translating deal strategy into actionable plans and accountable execution. This position requires hands-on leadership of integration workstreams without direct line authority, relying on influence, structure, and clarity of outcomes. You will work in a hybrid environment with the flexibility to be based in New York City, Austin, Palo Alto, or remotely within the United States. This role is designed for an operator who thrives in ambiguity and turns complex cross-functional efforts into repeatable processes.
Key facts
What you'll do
Partner with Corporate Development from LOI onward to translate the deal thesis into clear integration goals, success criteria, and a high-level operating model for each transaction.
Build and maintain MongoDB's integration playbook - standard plans, Day 1/Day 100 checklists, communications templates, and KPI frameworks - refining it deal by deal alongside the Chief of Staff.
Serve as the day-to-day integration lead for assigned deals, supporting the governance cadence (standups, cross-functional reviews, status updates) and holding business owners across Legal, HR, Finance & Accounting, IT, Go-to-Market, Marketing, and Product & Technology accountable to plan.
Own Day 1 and Day 100 readiness for assigned transactions, prioritizing across concurrent deals as needed to ensure critical milestones are met.
Track integration KPIs per deal and partner with Corp Dev and FP&A to tie progress back to the original deal thesis and financial model, calling out variance and recommended course corrections.
Maintain a deal-level view of status, risks, and interdependencies, and support the Chief of Staff in maintaining a portfolio-level view across active integrations.
Partner closely with HR on Day 1 planning, org design and role mapping, and retention and engagement plans for critical acquired talent.
Track talent risk indicators - attrition, engagement, manager feedback - and flag concerns and recommended interventions to protect the acquired team's strengths.
Manage dependencies and risks across workstreams, help facilitate decisions and trade-offs across teams, and escalate material issues to the Chief of Staff and Corporate Development.
Build and maintain MongoDB's integration toolkit - standard plans, checklists, templates, and KPI libraries - engaging early in the deal lifecycle to accelerate due diligence and post-close execution.
Requirements
You have led M&A integration workstreams previously and know how to bring structure to the ambiguity of a newly closed deal.
You can drive cross-functional execution without formal authority, operating with autonomy within a defined framework.
You move fluidly between Day 1 planning, synergy tracking, and status reporting, taking ownership of outcomes rather than waiting to be told what to do.
You are comfortable managing multiple concurrent deals and can flex across workstreams depending on the pace of acquisitions.
You communicate clearly with both executive stakeholders and functional managers, translating strategy into operational actions.
You have experience partnering with Finance, FP&A, and Corporate Development to track KPIs against deal economics.
You are proactive in identifying risks, escalating issues early, and proposing practical mitigation strategies to unblock teams.
You are comfortable using internal tools and data to monitor progress, validate assumptions, and report on outcomes.
