About the role
MongoDB is on the lookout for an Engagement Manager to become a key member of our team based in Seoul. This role is in driving the sales of professional services by combining sales acumen with technical and consulting knowledge. The Engagement Manager will be instrumental in promoting the adoption of MongoDB solutions by effectively defining and closing opportunities in Professional Services.

What you'll do
- Assess customer applications, datasets, and business goals to develop customized digital transformation strategies utilizing MongoDB technologies.
- Translate client requirements and challenges into clearly defined projects and formal statements of work.
- Partner with a dynamic sales team to devise strategies that ensure the successful implementation and expansion of MongoDB solutions.
- Manage all aspects of deals and technical scoping from inception to completion.
- Supervise the Professional Services pipeline, including bookings and revenue forecasts for your designated area.
- Articulate the value of professional services, addressing challenges in service delivery and formulating strategies to overcome them.
- Collaborate with the practice team to create reusable resources such as proposals, estimates, and case studies.
- Liaise with the delivery team to guarantee that project scopes and customer expectations are fulfilled for successful project outcomes.
- Provide mentorship to team members and share industry best practices.
- Maintain awareness of ongoing discussions and respond appropriately in group settings.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in selling Professional Services or technology solutions within an enterprise software context.
- Previous experience in roles such as architect, consultant, project manager, or Professional Services manager is essential.
- Demonstrated success in positioning and selling professional services within an organization.
- Proven track record of achieving quotas for Professional Services bookings.
- Familiarity with various database technologies, including RDBMS, SQL, and NoSQL.
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle and methodologies, such as Agile and Waterfall.
- Knowledge of software architecture, including both cloud and on-premise technologies like AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
- Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a larger account team to design and implement complex strategies.
- Proficient in project scoping and estimation processes.
- Strong presentation skills to effectively convey the value and unique aspects of service offerings.
- Willingness to travel for significant client engagements and team events.
Nice to have
- Experience with cloud-native application development and deployment.
- Familiarity with data analytics and business intelligence tools.
- Knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in the software industry.
Skills & tools
The ideal candidate will possess a set of skills, including strong analytical abilities, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in project management tools. Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) software and data visualization tools will be advantageous.
