About the role
MongoDB is on the lookout for an Engineering Manager to join our Atlas Clusters Organization, which is focused on the development of MongoDB Atlas, our rapidly growing database-as-a-service offering. This position entails leading a new team that is responsible for maintaining the stability and performance of our data plane through adept management of both hardware and software resources.

What you'll do
- Lead a team of passionate engineers eager to expand their expertise and capabilities.

Requirements
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in professional software development is essential.
- At least 3 years of experience in a leadership role managing engineering teams is required.
- Demonstrated success in leading teams that have developed and maintained large-scale systems is crucial.
- Proficient in creating distributed backend systems using a compiled language, such as Go, Java, or C#.
- Familiarity with streaming architectures is preferred.
- Experience with at least one major cloud service provider, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, is necessary.
- Knowledge of deploying various types of software across a fleet of virtual machines is important.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for this role.
- A curious, collaborative, and proactive approach to work is highly valued.
Nice to have
- Experience with container orchestration tools like Kubernetes is a plus.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools to ensure system reliability would be beneficial.
- Previous experience in a startup environment or fast-paced tech company is advantageous.

- Proficiency in programming languages such as Go, Java, or C#.
- Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and practices.
