What you'll do

• Design and implement backend services using Go, ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end.
• Collaborate with product managers and other stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Develop and maintain APIs that are secure, scalable, and easy to integrate with various platforms.
• Optimize existing backend systems for performance, reliability, and scalability, addressing any technical debt as necessary.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices within the development team.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, providing timely solutions to minimize downtime and impact on users.
• Work closely with DevOps to streamline deployment processes and enhance CI/CD pipelines for efficient software delivery.
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies, applying this knowledge to improve our backend architecture and development processes.
• Mentor junior engineers, sharing your expertise and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.
• Contribute to the documentation of systems, processes, and best practices to ensure knowledge sharing and maintainability.
• Engage in agile methodologies, participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives to enhance team collaboration and productivity.
• Collaborate with QA engineers to define testing strategies and ensure comprehensive test coverage for backend services.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Backend Engineer with a strong focus on Go programming, with at least 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Solid understanding of microservices architecture and experience in building and deploying microservices in a cloud environment.
• Proficiency in designing RESTful APIs and familiarity with GraphQL is a plus.
• Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Redis).
• Strong knowledge of software development best practices, including version control (Git) and agile methodologies.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes is highly desirable.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• A proactive attitude towards learning new technologies and adapting to changing requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
• Knowledge of message brokers like RabbitMQ or Kafka for asynchronous processing.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
• Previous experience in the fintech industry or working with financial applications is a plus.
• Contributions to open-source projects or personal projects showcasing your coding skills.
