What you'll do
- Conduct installation and commissioning of CNC machinery at customer sites, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on a variety of CNC machines to minimize downtime and enhance productivity.
- Provide technical support to customers via phone, email, and on-site visits, addressing any issues they may encounter with their machinery.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as their primary point of contact for service-related inquiries.
- Prepare detailed service reports and documentation after each visit, outlining work performed and any recommendations for future maintenance.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to identify and implement improvements to machinery and service processes.
- Train customers on the proper operation and maintenance of their CNC equipment, ensuring they are fully equipped to utilize the machinery effectively.
- Stay updated on the latest industry trends and technological advancements in CNC machinery to provide informed recommendations to clients.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance your technical skills and knowledge of Millscnc products.
- Assist in the development of service manuals and training materials to improve the efficiency of service delivery.
- Manage your schedule effectively to balance multiple service calls and ensure timely responses to customer needs.
- Contribute to a positive team environment by sharing knowledge and best practices with colleagues.
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a service engineering role, preferably within the CNC machinery sector.
- Strong understanding of CNC technology and mechanical systems, with the ability to diagnose and repair complex issues.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with clients and team members.
- Proven ability to work independently and manage time efficiently, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
- A valid UK driving license, as travel to various customer sites is a key aspect of this role.
- Familiarity with electrical systems and controls, as well as hydraulic and pneumatic systems, is highly desirable.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with service management software.
