Creative Director
Job description
About the role
You own the creative direction and quality of every output we ship, from brand identity to complex digital campaigns. You are the architect who defines our visual and strategic language for each client and protects the integrity of that vision. You translate messy business problems into sharp creative opportunities that make clients lean in and see the future. You build and nurture a studio culture where talented people show up, do their best work, and feel safe to push boundaries. You are the primary salesperson for the creative vision, closing business by making ideas irresistible and undeniable. You mentor the team around you, elevating the collective skillset and raising the bar for everyone in the room. You are comfortable leading through ambiguity and making confident decisions when the path is not yet clear. You treat every project as a chance to build a lasting brand system rather than a one-off tactic.
Key facts
What you'll do
Define and own the end-to-end creative strategy and quality for all client work across brand, campaign, digital, and content disciplines.
Architect the team structure by identifying gaps, recruiting top talent, developing current staff, and building the place where top designers and writers in Atlanta want to work.
Partner directly with leadership to shape positioning, pricing, and client selection, ensuring creative insight drives business decisions at the highest level.
Become the public voice and creative authority of the agency, representing our work at pitches, conferences, podcasts, panels, and awards shows.
Champion a culture of continuous improvement by challenging the status quo and evolving our methods so we get better than we are today.
Translate ambiguous client challenges into clear creative direction, bringing clarity and focus to problems that are initially messy or undefined.
Set the standard for craftsmanship and innovation, ensuring that every piece of work that carries our name reflects the highest level of quality we aspire to.
Act as a strategic partner to our clients, helping them understand how creative choices contribute to long-term brand positioning and durable market presence.
Foster an environment where smart risks are encouraged, thoughtful experimentation is welcomed, and learning precedes mastery.
Use data, intuition, and industry trends to future-proof our creative work and keep it relevant in a rapidly changing media landscape.
Guide the responsible integration of emerging tools and technologies so they enhance, rather than replace, human creativity and judgment.
Champion diversity of thought and collaboration, ensuring that the best ideas win regardless of hierarchy or tenure.
Document and share successful creative frameworks so that the team can replicate excellence and scale our impact.
Lead by example, demonstrating curiosity, rigor, and humility in every interaction with clients, partners, and colleagues.
Requirements
You have a proven track record of creative leadership with a portfolio that includes awards, case studies, and tangible business impact.
You have worked as an Art Director or Creative Director in a reputable agency long enough to understand the difference between good, mediocre, and exceptional creative.
You can sell ideas by painting a vivid picture of the outcome, and clients respond to you because they trust your judgment.
You have closed business or retained work because you believed in the creative vision well enough to convince others to follow.
You build enduring brand systems and platforms rather than isolated campaigns or quick fixes.
You create environments where talented people thrive, grow, and feel safe to experiment before they are ready.
You are fluent in the capabilities and limitations of current creative tools, including how artificial intelligence can support and challenge our craft.
You are comfortable moving quickly, making decisions with incomplete information, and refining the work through collaboration.
Nice to have
Experience working with sophisticated clients who understand brand strategy at a high level.
A track record of speaking at industry conferences, participating in juries, or contributing to the broader creative community.
