Mariana Minerals is on the lookout for a Global Sourcing Manager to spearhead procurement efforts for new projects and sites prior to their operational launch. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing essential supply agreements and fostering vendor relationships to ensure that sites are fully prepared for their operational debut.

What you'll do
- Collaborate closely with engineering and technical teams to accurately identify procurement requirements for upcoming sites, transforming technical specifications into actionable sourcing strategies.
- Oversee the complete procurement lifecycle prior to site operations, which includes vendor qualification, competitive bidding processes, contract negotiations, purchase execution, and managing initial deliveries.
- Source essential operating supplies, consumables such as reagents and spare parts, as well as non-construction capital items like mobile equipment.
- Ensure that all contracts adhere to company policies and align with enterprise objectives before finalization, paying special attention to clauses with potential broader implications.
- Nurture vendor relationships throughout the pre-operational phase, facilitating a transition to on-site procurement once the sites become active.
- Provide support to on-site procurement teams in handling complex purchases, engaging in high-stakes negotiations, and defining new project scopes at existing operational sites.
- Organize cross-site sourcing initiatives to consolidate purchases, thereby achieving cost savings through volume-based strategies.
- Contribute valuable pricing data and supplier insights to enhance the company's market intelligence database.
- Coordinate with site and project teams to ensure an uninterrupted supply chain from the initial startup phase through to ongoing operations.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in engineering, materials science, chemistry, or a related technical discipline. Equivalent technical experience may be accepted in lieu of a formal degree.
- A minimum of 8 to 12 years of experience in procurement, project procurement, or capital purchasing, particularly within the mining, industrial, chemicals, or similar sectors.
- Proven track record in managing procurement for pre-operational or greenfield sites, from the initial specification stage to the first delivery.
- Strong technical knowledge that enables the interpretation of specifications, understanding of process requirements, and effective engagement with engineering teams.
- Exceptional negotiation skills, with a history of achieving favorable terms even under pressure and often without extensive team support.
- Highly organized individual capable of juggling multiple procurement tasks across various projects and locations simultaneously.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguous situations with limited structure, demonstrating initiative in problem-solving.
- Proficient in utilizing software tools for project tracking, workflow management, and reporting purposes.

- Experience with sustainable sourcing practices or knowledge of environmentally responsible procurement strategies.
- Familiarity with supply chain management software and tools that enhance procurement efficiency.
