About the role
This role owns the design and execution of early-career recruiting programs specifically for Mach Industries. The hire will own full responsibility for sourcing, screening, and selecting interns and entry-level candidates across engineering and manufacturing disciplines. They will own the development of university partnerships and the cultivation of relationships with technical clubs and student organizations. This position owns the creation of a world-class candidate experience from initial outreach through offer acceptance and onboarding. The hire will partner closely with hiring managers and engineering teams to define evolving hiring needs and recruiting strategies. They will represent Mach Industries as a brand ambassador at universities, conferences, and virtual career events. This role owns the continuous improvement of scalable processes for talent acquisition in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. The ideal candidate is excited to build elite early-career pipelines that directly support national security innovation.

What you'll do
Source and screen candidates for internship and entry-level roles using proactive outreach and technical assessments.
Own the full early-career recruiting lifecycle, including university outreach, candidate engagement, interview coordination, and offer management.
Develop and maintain strategic relationships with top universities, engineering programs, and technical student organizations.
Plan and execute university recruiting events, technical club partnerships, career fairs, and information sessions to build talent pipelines.
Represent Mach Industries as a brand ambassador at academic conferences, recruiting events, and campus engagements to elevate employer brand awareness.
Build and refine scalable processes for candidate tracking, interview scheduling, and timely communication across the recruiting funnel.
Analyze talent market trends and compensation data to advise hiring managers on competitive positioning and engagement strategies.
Collaborate closely with hiring managers to ensure a consistent and high-quality interview experience for technical candidates.
Implement best practices for diversity, equity, and inclusion in sourcing channels and outreach messaging to expand candidate access.
Utilize recruiting platforms such as Ashby and LinkedIn Recruiter to manage requisitions, track progress, and report on key hiring metrics.
Drive campus engagement strategies that connect Mach Industries with emerging technical talent across multiple university channels.
Support the development of employer branding materials tailored to student audiences and technical communities.
Coordinate interview logistics, including scheduling, room reservations, and candidate communications for both virtual and in-person events.
Partner with leadership to align early-career hiring strategies with broader organizational goals and defense technology roadmaps.
Requirements
3+ years of experience in technical recruiting, business operations, or sales, ideally within deep tech or hard tech verticals.
Bachelor's degree and 1+ years of experience in recruiting, business operations, or sales if substituting education for experience.
Demonstrated success sourcing and closing technical candidates in competitive markets with high decision velocity.
Strong understanding of engineering roles, organizational structures, and technical skill requirements for early-career positions.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills to engage diverse stakeholders and candidates.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and workflows in a fast-moving, mission-driven environment.
Obsession with building excellent teams through data-driven decision making and continuous process improvement.

Nice to have
Experience recruiting in startup or high-growth environments where agility and ownership are essential.
Familiarity with Department of Defense contracting or cleared hiring processes and security protocols.

Practical notes
This role is based in Huntington Beach, California, and requires in-office presence according to team and operational needs.
Employment is full-time and eligible for E-Verify as part of the onboarding process.
This role may require access to information protected under U.S. export control laws and regulations, including the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only.
Actual salary offers may vary based on work experience, education and training, critical skills, and business considerations.
