About the role
We are looking for an experienced Design Engineer who blends strong frontend engineering skills with a refined sense of craft and interaction design. In this role you will work hand in hand with design and marketing teams to produce world-class web content that helps empower the next generation of creators and builders. You will take ownership of landing pages and web experiences that represent Lovable to the world, ensuring every detail meets a high standard of quality and usability. The work is fast-paced and collaborative, set within a small, talent-dense team building a generation-defining company from Stockholm. Lovable lets anyone build software with any language, and the web experiences you create will be visited hundreds of millions of times each month. Your contributions will directly shape how millions of people discover and engage with the platform, making this a meaningful opportunity to impact a growing global user base.

What you'll do
Own and elevate landing pages and web experiences that help share Lovable with the world.
Build landing pages that delight users, designing interactions or working closely with designers on visuals.
Implement web interactions in React and TypeScript with obsessive attention to performance and responsiveness.
Drive front-end execution by pioneering new interaction patterns, micro-animations, and delightful details across the site.
Collaborate with marketing teams to help share Lovable with a global audience of builders.
Explore and iterate on visual designs with designers, translating explorations into scalable web-native implementations.
Build and maintain reusable components that enhance consistency while enabling creativity across product and marketing.
Reinvent how teams build for the web, setting new standards for design engineering practices.
Ensure cross-browser consistency and accessibility across all web experiences and landing pages we ship.
Push the boundaries of the web using technologies like WebGL to create standout visuals.
Translate scrappy design explorations into production-ready experiences that balance speed and polish effectively.
Partner with product and engineering teams to align front-end execution with broader product goals.
Requirements
10 or more years of experience shipping web experiences that users genuinely love and trust.
A portfolio demonstrating landing pages and advanced web interactions that showcase your design engineering craft.
Strong fundamental understanding of modern frontend systems including React architecture, state management, and performance optimization.
Ability to make smart trade-offs between speed and polish, knowing when to ship and when to refine.
Experience translating scrappy explorations and rough concepts into polished, production-ready web experiences consistently.
Strong design sense with a keen eye for detail, accessibility, and usability in every pixel.
Proficiency in React and TypeScript, with demonstrated ability to build high-quality web applications at scale.
Familiarity with WebGL or similar web graphics technologies is a strong advantage for this role.
Nice to have
Background in visual design or interaction design, complementing your engineering expertise with a creative eye.
Experience working in a fast-moving startup environment where shipping quickly and iterating often is expected.
Familiarity with design systems and component libraries that promote consistency across large-scale web products.
Interest in exploring new web technologies and pushing the limits of what browsers can do.

OpenTelemetry for instrumentation and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform for managing cloud resources.
Practical notes
