Logpoint is seeking a dedicated Security Researcher to join our dynamic team in Kathmandu, Bagmati Pradesh. Key facts

What you'll do

• Conduct in-depth research on current and emerging cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and attack vectors to inform product development and security strategies.
• Analyze malware samples and other security incidents to identify patterns and develop countermeasures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management and engineering, to integrate security features into Logpoint's solutions.
• Develop and maintain threat intelligence reports and documentation to share insights with internal teams and clients.
• Participate in the creation of security advisories and whitepapers to educate clients and the broader community about potential threats and best practices.
• Engage with the cybersecurity community through conferences, webinars, and publications to share knowledge and promote Logpoint's security initiatives.
• Monitor security news and trends to ensure that Logpoint's products remain relevant and effective against the latest threats.
• Provide technical support and guidance to clients regarding security best practices and incident response strategies.
• Assist in the development of training materials and sessions to enhance the security awareness of both internal staff and clients.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of Logpoint's security posture by identifying areas for enhancement and implementing solutions.
• Collaborate with external partners and vendors to gather intelligence and share findings that can improve overall security measures.
• Participate in incident response activities, including investigation and remediation of security breaches, to minimize impact and prevent future occurrences.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in cybersecurity research, threat analysis, or a similar role.
• Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and security technologies.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C/C++, or Java for developing security tools and scripts.
• Familiarity with security frameworks and standards, including NIST, ISO 27001, and OWASP.
• Experience with security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, and vulnerability scanners.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically under pressure.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or OSCP.
• Experience with cloud security and understanding of cloud service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
• Knowledge of threat hunting methodologies and tools.
• Familiarity with incident response frameworks and processes.
• Experience in conducting security assessments and penetration testing.

Skills & tools

• Proficient in using security analysis tools and software, including but not limited to Wireshark, Metasploit, and Burp Suite.
• Strong knowledge of intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDPS) and security information and event management (SIEM) solutions.
• Familiarity with programming and scripting languages for automation and tool development.
• Understanding of encryption technologies and secure coding practices.
• Experience with data analysis and visualization tools to interpret security data effectively.
