What you'll do

• Design, develop, and maintain robust database systems that support our payment processing applications.
• Optimize existing database queries and structures to enhance performance and reduce latency.
• Collaborate with software developers and system architects to integrate database solutions with application code.
• Implement data security measures to protect sensitive information and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Conduct regular database performance tuning and troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues proactively.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation of database designs, configurations, and procedures.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Work closely with data analysts to support data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes for reporting and analytics.
• Assist in the migration of legacy systems to modern database platforms, ensuring minimal disruption to services.
• Monitor database health and performance metrics, making recommendations for improvements as necessary.
• Stay updated on the latest database technologies and best practices to continuously enhance our systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in database development and management, preferably in a financial or payment processing environment.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational database management systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Microsoft SQL Server.
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra) is a plus.
• Strong understanding of database design principles, normalization, and indexing strategies.
• Experience with data modeling and schema design for complex applications.
• Knowledge of data security practices and compliance regulations relevant to financial data.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git is advantageous.

• Experience with cloud-based database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database).
• Knowledge of database automation and monitoring tools.
