About the role
This position centers on owning enterprise revenue within the physical sciences domain for Lila Sciences. The individual in this role will guide Fortune 500 buyers in the energy, manufacturing, and chemical sectors regarding the company's AI platform. Success requires a blend of scientific understanding and commercial strategy. The role involves shaping business strategy as the company evolves and converting the complex value of the platform into signed agreements. The position holder will directly influence product direction through market feedback and customer insights.
Location, engagement, and compensation
The role is based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA. It is a full-time position. The compensation package includes a base salary of $180,000, with an on-target earnings (OTE) of $200,000. Equity is part of the total compensation package.
Key responsibilities
You will architect and manage strategic account plans. The focus is on expanding whitespace and driving renewal outcomes, particularly within the catalyst and flow chemistry segments. This involves identifying new opportunities and strengthening existing client engagements.
You will orchestrate cross-functional coordination internally. This ensures alignment among robotics, data, product, and technology teams. The goal is to deliver polished customer proposals and materials on schedule, meeting specific deal timelines.
A core duty involves framing enterprise responses to Requests for Information (RFI) and Due Diligence Questionnaire (DDQ) artifacts. You will route detailed technical queries to appropriate internal experts. Subsequently, you will package the information into executive-grade deliverables for client review.
You will map buyer journeys across digital lab workflows. This mapping translates the platform's capabilities into clear narratives for both R&D and procurement stakeholders. The objective is to clarify where Lila integrates into the customer's existing research and development stack.
You will champion discipline within the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. This involves refining records and building governance structures. The outcome is that pipeline, forecasts, and playbooks remain reliable, actionable, and data-driven.
You will chart and analyze the AI and machine learning partnership landscape specific to physical sciences. This analysis turns competitive signals into positioning and messaging choices. These choices then inform the company's market motion and go-to-market strategy.
You will conduct discovery sessions with science and business leaders. These sessions surface critical needs that shape the scope of engagements. The insights guide resource allocations and the design of high-value programs.
You will forge partner roadmaps with vendors and technology partners. This aligns AI and autonomous lab capabilities with joint solution design. The focus is on creating integrated offerings for strategic accounts.
Requirements
You hold a Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, or PhD degree. Acceptable fields include chemistry, physics, chemical engineering, or closely related disciplines.
You bring two to five years of client-facing experience. Relevant backgrounds include Business Development, enterprise sales, applied science, customer success, or consulting. Experience in industrial, energy, or materials sectors is valuable.
You thrive in fast-moving, highly technical environments. You are adaptable when processes, messaging, and the scope of the role are actively evolving.
You communicate clearly and effectively. You translate deep scientific methodology into accessible narratives for buyers and procurement teams. Both written and verbal skills are essential.
You manage multiple concurrent accounts with minimal oversight. You remain organized and effective when handling shifting priorities and competing demands.
You build trust quickly through a collaborative working style. You work effectively with Project Managers, scientists, engineers, and product leadership.
You use AI tools in your daily workflows. You possess curiosity about how autonomous science and AI will reshape physical research and development.
Nice to have
Familiarity with AI and ML applications within physical science workflows is a bonus. Specific experience observing or participating in such environments is advantageous.
Skills and tools
Proficiency with Lila Sciences platforms is expected. You will utilize AI and ML tools as part of your daily workflow. Experience with Robotics and Physical AI systems is relevant. CRM tools are central to the role.
