About the role
You will be the program owner for Physical AI - the shared infrastructure our autonomous labs run on. Working across multiple engineering teams, you will turn the platform roadmap into a sequenced, dependency-aware plan that balances throughput and reliability. You will own the reliability and scalability programs - SLOs, launch readiness, capacity planning - and serve as the clear line to the teams who depend on the platform. This is an influence-without-authority role where your leverage comes from rigor, judgment, and trust. You will coordinate cross-team execution, manage risk end to end, and raise operational rigor through clear rituals and decision records.

What you'll do
- Drive the Physical AI platform roadmap by sequencing delivery across teams with clear milestones and owners.
- Coordinate cross-team dependencies by mapping the critical path and surfacing blockers before they turn into delays.
- Own reliability and scalability programs by standing up SLOs, launch-readiness reviews, and capacity planning.
- Track risk end to end by maintaining a living risk register and driving incident follow-through to closure.
- Align stakeholders by keeping the teams who depend on the platform current on scope and trade-offs.
- Coordinate releases by running release and change coordination so launches are predictable and well-orchestrated.
- Raise operational rigor by establishing status rhythms, escalation paths, and decision records that keep delivery honest.
- Partner closely with engineering to translate platform constraints into actionable plans for robotic and lab-automation workloads.
- Facilitate cross-functional ceremonies to ensure visibility into timelines, risks, and dependencies for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Act as the central point for dependency management, ensuring that capacity, data, and infrastructure needs are visible early.
Requirements
- Bring 4-8 years of technical program management experience for platform or infrastructure software across multiple teams.
- Demonstrate mastery of managing cross-team dependencies, critical paths, and risk registers on multi-quarter programs.
- Show hands-on fluency with SLOs, launch readiness, capacity planning, and release or incident processes.
- Possess enough technical depth to engage backend, platform/SRE, and QA engineers on real trade-offs.
- Prove ability to drive delivery and hard decisions across teams you do not manage.
- Communicate clearly and fluidly between engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
- Have experience turning high-level objectives into sequenced plans with owners, milestones, and measurable outcomes.
- Be comfortable working in a fast-moving environment where priorities evolve with scientific and operational needs.
Nice to have
- A systems-thinking background and program experience in regulated, safety-critical domains such as aerospace, manufacturing, or healthcare/life sciences.
- Exposure to validation or verification regimes (GAMP 5 / FDA CSA, DO-178C) or enterprise-to-shop-floor integration (ISA-95).
- Context in robotics, hardware-in-the-loop, or lab-scientific computing environments.
- SRE-adjacent depth in observability, on-call, and incident management practice.
- Experience with data-platform programs that span data pipelines, capacity and cost planning, or ML/AI infrastructure.
