Medical Director, Psychiatry
Job description
Medical Director, Psychiatry at Legion Health.
About the role
You will serve as the primary clinical authority and external voice of Legion Health in psychiatry, owning the medical strategy that underpins our AI-native care model and ensuring clinical excellence is communicated with precision and integrity. You will define and enforce medical standards that govern psychiatric evaluation, medication management, documentation, escalation, and longitudinal patient outcomes across all care pathways. In this role, you will act as a bridge between clinical care and commercial execution, translating complex psychiatric and AI concepts into clear, evidence-based narratives that build trust with payers, health systems, regulators, and referral partners. You will shape how Legion explains its model of care, ensuring that every interaction reinforces safety, transparency, and measurable quality. You will also own the clinical governance of our AI workflows, validating that they are explainable, clinically sound, and responsibly implemented in partnership with product, engineering, and compliance teams. As a founding clinical leader, you will mentor psychiatrists, PMHNPs, supervising physicians, and clinical operations staff to align with Legion's standards and culture. You will represent Legion in high-stakes dialogues, including payer diligence, medical advisory boards, regulatory engagements, and partnership discussions, safeguarding the credibility of our model. Your work will directly influence how referral partners understand when and how to use Legion for their patients, ensuring appropriate adoption and integration into existing care ecosystems. You will also create the clinical materials that communicate outcomes, quality frameworks, and medical policies to external audiences, reinforcing our commitment to data-driven care. Ultimately, you will be responsible for making Legion the most trusted name in AI-native psychiatric care through clinical credibility, partnership instincts, and unwavering attention to patient safety.
