What you'll do

Conduct thorough inspections and assessments of existing BMS installations to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to BMS hardware and software, ensuring minimal downtime for clients.
Collaborate with project managers and other engineers to implement new BMS solutions tailored to client specifications.
Provide technical support and training to clients on the operation and maintenance of their BMS systems.
Develop and maintain documentation related to system configurations, changes, and maintenance activities.
Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in BMS technology to recommend innovative solutions to clients.
Participate in the commissioning of new BMS installations, ensuring they meet performance standards and client expectations.
Work closely with vendors and suppliers to source components and materials necessary for BMS projects.
Assist in the preparation of project proposals and cost estimates for potential clients.
Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations during all service and installation activities.
Monitor system performance metrics and generate reports to inform clients about energy consumption and efficiency improvements.
Engage in continuous professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge in BMS technologies and practices.

Requirements

A degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
At least 3 years of experience working with Building Management Systems or similar technologies.
Proficiency in BMS software platforms, including but not limited to Tridium, Johnson Controls, or Siemens.
Strong understanding of HVAC systems and their integration with BMS.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with clients and team members.
A valid driver's license and willingness to travel to client sites as required.
Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to building systems and energy management.

Nice to have

Certification in BMS technologies or related fields (e.g., CIBSE, BSRIA).
Experience with energy management systems and sustainability practices.
Knowledge of programming languages relevant to BMS (e.g., BACnet, Modbus).
Previous experience in a client-facing role, particularly in a technical capacity.
Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.

Skills & tools

Strong analytical skills for diagnosing and resolving technical issues.
Proficient in using diagnostic tools and software for BMS troubleshooting.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite for documentation and reporting purposes.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.

This position may require occasional overtime or weekend work to meet project deadlines or address urgent client needs.
Candidates must be willing to undergo background checks and security clearances as required for specific client sites.
The role may involve physical activity, including lifting equipment and working in various environmental conditions.
