What you'll do

• Operate grab lorries to collect and transport various materials, including soil, rubble, and waste, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations.
• Conduct pre-operation checks on vehicles to ensure they are in safe working condition and report any maintenance issues promptly.
• Collaborate with site managers and other team members to coordinate collection schedules and ensure timely service delivery.
• Maintain accurate records of materials collected and disposed of, adhering to company policies and environmental regulations.
• Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients and addressing any concerns they may have during the collection process.
• Assist in loading and unloading materials safely, utilizing the grab mechanism efficiently to minimize manual handling.
• Participate in training sessions to stay updated on best practices and new technologies in waste management and vehicle operation.
• Adhere to all health and safety protocols, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.

Requirements

• Valid HGV Class 2 driving license with a clean driving record.
• CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) qualification is essential.
• Proven experience in operating grab lorries or similar vehicles is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of health and safety regulations related to vehicle operation and waste management.
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and a strong work ethic.
• Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and the ability to conduct routine checks.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and work demands.
• Physical fitness to handle the demands of the job, including lifting and manual handling tasks.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to learn new skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in the waste management or construction industry.
