What you'll do
- Operate grab lorries to collect and transport various materials, including soil, rubble, and waste, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations.
- Conduct pre-operation checks on vehicles to ensure they are in safe working condition and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Collaborate with site managers and other team members to coordinate collection schedules and ensure timely service delivery.
- Maintain accurate records of materials collected and disposed of, adhering to company policies and environmental regulations.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients and addressing any concerns they may have during the collection process.
- Assist in loading and unloading materials safely, utilizing the grab mechanism efficiently to minimize manual handling.
- Participate in training sessions to stay updated on best practices and new technologies in waste management and vehicle operation.
- Adhere to all health and safety protocols, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.

Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 2 driving license with a clean driving record.
- CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) qualification is essential.
- Proven experience in operating grab lorries or similar vehicles is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations related to vehicle operation and waste management.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and the ability to conduct routine checks.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and work demands.
- Physical fitness to handle the demands of the job, including lifting and manual handling tasks.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to learn new skills.
