Senior GTM Partner Systems Architect
Job description
About the role
At Klaviyo, we value the unique backgrounds, experiences and perspectives each Klaviyo (we call ourselves Klaviyos) brings to our workplace each and every day. We believe everyone deserves a fair shot at success and appreciate the experiences each person brings beyond the traditional job requirements. If you're a close but not exact match with the description, we hope you'll still consider applying. Want to learn more about life at Klaviyo? Visit klaviyo.com/careers to see how we empower creators to own their own destiny. As the Senior GTM Partner Systems Architect, you are the domain expert for our partnerships business systems. You own the Salesforce-to-partner-portal ecosystem, including all integrations with partner management and payment data. You translate ambiguous business problems into system architecture, drive the roadmap in collaboration with the Product Owner, and stay hands-on to build and ship meaningful parts of the solution yourself rather than only designing from a distance. You will mentor others, uphold engineering standards, and serve as the central technical authority for the GTM Systems team.
Key facts
What you'll do
Define and own the end-to-end architecture for our partnerships business systems, converting ambiguous business requirements into clear diagrams, data models, and design documents that the wider GTM Systems team can implement.
Build proof-of-concepts and ship production-ready code using Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flow, and complex integrations, tracking your work in GitHub to ensure solutions remain reusable assets for the broader team.
Establish and enforce engineering standards through architecture reviews, GitHub pull request reviews, and hands-on pairing with other developers to maintain high quality and consistency across implementations.
Lead story and backlog refinement sessions with the Product Owner, surfacing technical constraints and tradeoffs early, and looking several steps ahead to shape the roadmap before issues become urgent.
Serve as the primary domain expert for Sales Ops, Marketing Ops, RevOps, and senior leadership, translating complex architectural decisions into language that resonates with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Mentor developers on system design, code quality, and tradeoff thinking, building the muscle for others to make sound architectural decisions independently.
Coordinate closely with cross-functional partners to ensure integrations between Salesforce, partner management platforms, and payment systems are reliable, scalable, and secure.
Maintain a deep understanding of the partner portal and its data flows, ensuring that integrations with partner management and payment systems data remain robust and performant.
Champion best practices in version control, testing, and documentation so that solutions are maintainable, auditable, and easy for the team to extend over time.
Proactively identify risks and dependencies in the GTM technology stack, proposing mitigation strategies that reduce delivery uncertainty for the entire team.
Contribute to the broader GTM Systems vision by exploring new patterns, tools, and technologies that can improve the resilience and flexibility of our operational infrastructure.
Participate in on-call rotations and incident response as needed, applying your architectural expertise to diagnose issues and guide remediation efforts.
Requirements
Demonstrate mastery of Salesforce architecture, including object models, triggers, flows, and integration patterns, with a proven track record of designing and implementing solutions on the platform.
Bring 8+ years of professional software development experience, with several years focused on Salesforce or similar CRM platforms and their integrations.
Show strong proficiency in Apex, Lightning Web Components, and Salesforce declarative tools, along with experience building integrations using REST and SOAP APIs.
Exhibit solid understanding of data modeling, both relational and NoSQL concepts, and the ability to design data structures that support complex business workflows.
Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling you to translate technical designs into narratives that resonate with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Have experience working in an Agile delivery environment, contributing actively to sprint planning, refinement, retrospectives, and other ceremonies.
Show commitment to writing clean, testable code and maintaining comprehensive documentation so that systems are understandable and maintainable by others.
Be comfortable making technical decisions in the absence of complete information, balancing tradeoffs, and clearly documenting assumptions and constraints.
