What you'll do
- Lead the design and development of scalable software solutions that meet the needs of our users while adhering to best practices in software engineering.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define project requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.
- Conduct code reviews to ensure high-quality code standards and maintainability across the codebase.
- Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to the evolution of our technology stack, ensuring it remains modern and efficient.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, providing timely solutions to enhance system performance and reliability.

- Collaborate with the DevOps team to streamline deployment processes and improve operational efficiency.
- Contribute to the documentation of software designs, processes, and best practices to facilitate knowledge sharing within the team.
- Engage with users and stakeholders to gather feedback and iterate on product features, ensuring alignment with user needs and expectations.
- Participate in agile ceremonies, including sprint planning and retrospectives, to enhance team collaboration and project delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in software development, with a strong focus on web technologies.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python, with a solid understanding of frameworks like React, Angular, or Node.js.
- Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and familiarity with microservices architecture.
- Strong understanding of database technologies, including SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with version control systems, particularly Git, and familiarity with CI/CD practices.
- A passion for education technology and a commitment to improving learning outcomes for students.
Nice to have
- Experience with mobile application development (iOS or Android) is a plus.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
- Previous experience in an agile development environment, particularly Scrum or Kanban methodologies.
