About the role

Juniper Square is seeking a Technical Lead to guide the architecture and development of scalable web applications within our private markets platform. You will own the technical vision for critical product initiatives and ensure alignment between engineering execution and business objectives. This role involves mentoring engineering teams, defining technical standards, and driving best practices across our full-stack environment. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality software solutions that are robust, secure, and performant. The position requires deep involvement in both strategic design and tactical implementation details. You will collaborate closely with product managers and cross-functional stakeholders to translate requirements into technical specifications. This role is pivotal in shaping the long-term technical trajectory of our platform.

What you'll do

• Architect and design end-to-end full-stack systems that integrate frontend interfaces, backend services, and cloud infrastructure seamlessly.
• Provide hands-on technical mentorship to engineering developers, fostering growth and skill development across the team.
• Establish and enforce coding standards, conduct thorough code reviews, and ensure the delivery of high-quality software at every stage.
• Build and maintain robust backend services using Python with FastAPI or Java, focusing on scalability and reliability.
• Develop secure and high-performance RESTful and GraphQL APIs that meet the demands of modern digital markets.
• Create efficient asynchronous processing pipelines using tools such as RabbitMQ, Redis, or Celery to handle complex workflows.
• Design optimized database schemas for both SQL and NoSQL environments to support diverse data requirements.
• Develop responsive frontend components using ReactJS and TypeScript to deliver exceptional user experiences.
• Manage cloud deployments on AWS, leveraging services like ECS, EKS, Lambda, and S3 for infrastructure efficiency.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and containerization strategies using Docker and Kubernetes to streamline deployment cycles.
• Drive system design discussions centered on event-driven patterns, scalability, and distributed architecture principles.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications and project plans.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide solutions that minimize downtime and maximize system performance.
• Lead the evaluation and adoption of new technologies that enhance product capabilities and engineering productivity.

Requirements

• Hold a Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Bring 7 to 10 years of professional software engineering experience across the full development lifecycle.
• Possess a minimum of 3 years in a technical leadership capacity, guiding teams and projects to success.
• Demonstrate proficiency in Python (FastAPI preferred) or Java for building scalable backend services.
• Show expertise in ReactJS and TypeScript for developing dynamic and responsive user interfaces.
• Have solid experience with REST and GraphQL API development, emphasizing best practices and security.
• Apply knowledge of asynchronous processing mechanisms and AWS cloud services for modern applications.
• Exhibit familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, microservices, and distributed system design patterns.
• Show experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring frameworks.
• Understand the importance of clean code, version control, and collaborative development practices.
• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to align on goals and priorities.
• Commit to continuous learning and adapting to emerging technologies and industry trends.

Nice to have

• Experience building AI-driven products or integrating AI features such as LLMs, RAG pipelines, or semantic search.
• Familiarity with event-driven systems using technologies like Kafka, SNS, or SQS for scalable messaging.
• Understanding of Domain-Driven Design principles and clean architecture approaches.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation for automated provisioning.
• Background in performance tuning, load testing, or AWS cost optimization strategies.

• This role is full-time and requires consistent availability during standard working hours.
