You will architect and implement core platform features that directly enhance how financial advisors interact with AI in their daily workflows. You will own critical backend services and ensure they are robust, scalable, and secure under enterprise conditions. You will collaborate closely with product and design to translate complex advisor needs into reliable software solutions. You will mentor other engineers by example, elevating the entire team's standards for code quality and problem-solving. You will exercise sound judgment when balancing tradeoffs between speed, quality, and compliance in a regulated industry. You will proactively identify risks and opportunities in the codebase and drive initiatives that improve long-term maintainability. You will partner with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver features that meet strict timelines and customer expectations.

What you'll do
Architect and maintain backend services using Elixir and the Liveview framework to support advisor-facing AI features.
Design and evolve data models in Postgres to handle complex financial advisor workflows and compliance requirements.
Collaborate with the product team to refine requirements and ensure technical feasibility for upcoming features.
Implement secure integrations with external financial services systems and third-party APIs used by broker dealers and RIAs.
Optimize application performance and reliability in Google Cloud environments, including k8s clusters managed via Terraform.
Write clean, well-tested code that enables rapid iteration while maintaining high standards of stability and security.
Participate in code reviews to share knowledge and uphold best practices across the engineering organization.
Troubleshoot production incidents and work with the team to implement resilient monitoring and alerting strategies.
Explore new tools and technologies that can improve developer experience and accelerate feature delivery.
Support the growth of the platform by ensuring that new features are delivered with clear documentation and operational runbooks.
Engage in planning and estimation sessions to align engineering capacity with business priorities and market demands.
Champion engineering excellence by mentoring junior developers and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
Contribute to long-term technical strategy, helping to define the roadmap for the AI assistant and related financial services products.
Work within a distributed team structure, coordinating effectively with colleagues across time zones to maintain momentum.
Requirements
You must have at least 6 years of professional software engineering experience to be considered for this role.
You should demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn new technologies quickly when faced with unfamiliar challenges.
You need to value clear and respectful communication, balancing thoughtful feedback with active listening.
You must be comfortable adjusting to shifting priorities and treating changes as opportunities for growth.
You should understand the importance of collaboration and using setbacks as a basis for joint problem-solving.
You must be fluent in English to communicate effectively with product managers, designers, and other engineers.
You should have a basic willingness to work with the tech stack, including Elixir, Liveview, Postgres, Github, k8s, Terraform, and Google Cloud.
You must be available to work from Poland under full-time engagement terms as defined by local regulations.
Practical notes
This role offers a pay range of $30 to $70 per hour depending on experience, with a specific rate of $70 per hour for this position. The engagement is full_time, and the hours are flexible, requiring only about 3 hours of overlap with headquarters hours in SLC, Utah. You can work from anywhere in Poland while maintaining this schedule. The hiring process includes a screening call, a coding challenge, a chat with the CTO, and a trial week. Candidates must wait at least six months before re-applying for the same role. The company provides subscriptions for tools such as Cursor.ai and ChatGPT to support your work.
