Strategy & Operations
Job description
About the role
You will own the diagnostic analysis that reveals where operational leverage exists across client portfolios and translate those insights into concrete priorities for product, operations, and go-to-market. You will own a point of view on the highest leverage growth initiatives within your chosen domain and drive those initiatives from diagnosis through adoption without waiting for explicit direction. You will build the systems, playbooks, and analytical infrastructure that turn reactive work into scalable capability and eliminate the drag that prevents the team from operating at its highest value. You will own the named outcomes of your team, whether that is deepening client relationships to unlock expansion, implementing integrations that become templates for future scale, or making compliance a demonstrable competitive advantage. You will partner closely with Product, Engineering, Legal, and Sales to align on priorities that compound January's capabilities across the consumer credit lifecycle. You will actively kill low-value work, automate repetitive processes, and create frameworks that turn complex client situations into repeatable patterns that do not depend on a single person.
Key facts
What you'll do
Drive the decisions and work that compound January's growth by owning a point of view on the biggest levers within your domain.
Identify patterns in your team's work that should reshape product priorities, operational investments, or go-to-market strategy and drive the decision before leadership has to ask.
Build the systems, playbooks, and capabilities that compound by eliminating the drag that prevents your team from focusing on the highest-value work.
Own client relationships as a portfolio and translate stakeholder needs into strategic insight that shapes January's product roadmap and priorities.
Own client integrations end-to-end from contract review through first accounts placed, turning every implementation into reusable infrastructure.
Align product and engineering on tooling investments that compound implementation speed across all clients and reduce future manual effort.
Own January's compliance advantage by building systems, processes, and evidence that make regulatory scrutiny a source of competitive strength.
Create analytical infrastructure and frameworks that let your team self-diagnose and turn ICs into owners so judgment and execution do not bottleneck.
Turn repeat client situations into systematic capabilities so future complex escalations, integrations, or audits are handled faster and better because of the patterns you built.
Own the named outcomes of your team, whether in client strategy, implementations, or compliance, and be immediately accountable for their concrete results.
Align with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Legal to make compliance a revenue lever and a reason clients choose and expand with January.
Drive initiatives that unlock new categories and expand current client segments by identifying and pursuing previously untapped opportunities.
Partner across the business to convert complex client needs into clear requirements that shape January's roadmap and market positioning.
Eliminate low-value work, automate manual processes, and create durable systems that make the next crisis easier to handle than the last.

You have a strong record of delivering end-to-end results in environments where implementation, compliance, and client expectations intersect.
You communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and are comfortable translating data and qualitative signals into decisions.
You understand the importance of compliance and regulatory risk in financial services and can build systems that make adherence scalable.
You are comfortable operating in a fast-moving growth stage company where priorities shift and new opportunities appear frequently.
