What you'll do
- Design and implement security architectures to protect sensitive data and systems from unauthorized access and breaches.
- Conduct regular security assessments, including vulnerability scans and penetration tests, to identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Monitor network traffic for unusual activity and respond to security incidents in a timely manner, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Collaborate with IT teams to integrate security best practices into the software development lifecycle, ensuring that security is a priority from the outset.
- Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and documentation to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Provide training and awareness programs for employees to foster a culture of security within the organization.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends, threats, and technologies to continuously improve our security measures.
- Work with third-party vendors to assess their security practices and ensure they align with our organizational standards.
- Participate in incident response planning and execution, including post-incident analysis and reporting to enhance future security measures.
- Assist in the development of disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure operational resilience in the event of a security breach.
- Engage in cross-functional collaboration to ensure that security considerations are integrated into all aspects of the business.
- Prepare regular reports on security status and incidents for management and stakeholders, highlighting areas for improvement and necessary actions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in IT security or a related role, with a proven track record of implementing security measures.
- Strong understanding of security frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, and GDPR.
- Proficiency in security tools and technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption methods.
- Experience with network security protocols and technologies, including VPNs, IDS/IPS, and SIEM solutions.
- Familiarity with programming and scripting languages such as Python, Java, or PowerShell for automation and security tool development.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically under pressure.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH are highly desirable.
Nice to have
- Experience in cloud security, particularly with platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and tools to integrate security into the development process.
- Familiarity with threat intelligence platforms and incident response frameworks.
