Senior Finance Systems & AI Engineer
Job description
About the role
Ironclad is seeking a Senior Finance Systems & AI Engineer to own the data infrastructure, system integrations, and AI automation that power Finance teams at the leading AI contracting platform. This role sits within the Finance organization and reports directly to the VP of FP&A with a dotted line to the Controller, positioning the hire as a strategic owner of financial operations and tooling. The person in this role will architect reliable, low-manual-touch integrations across the Finance stack using iPaaS platforms or equivalent, ensuring seamless data flow and system reliability. They will partner with Data Engineering on BigQuery pipelines that serve as the analytics layer for Finance, translating complex data needs into robust technical solutions. The hire will own the Finance systems roadmap end-to-end, from strategic design to implementation, while defining and enforcing data governance standards such as field definitions, hierarchy taxonomy, department and cost-center mapping, and change-control SLAs. They will also own FP&A planning platform end-to-end, including model architecture, formula logic, dimension hierarchies, integration design, long-range planning (LRP), rolling forecasts, full-year budgeting, and headcount planning. By identifying high-ROI automation opportunities across the FP&A and close cycle, such as variance analysis, anomaly detection, and reconciliation, the Senior Finance Systems & AI Engineer will build agents and pipelines to eliminate manual work and drive efficiency. This role requires designing human-in-the-loop controls and auditability frameworks so automated outputs remain trustworthy and SOX-compliant, ensuring that AI-driven processes support strong internal controls. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of delivering outcomes through system ownership and cross-functional collaboration, using data and automation to accelerate business decisions.
