About the role
As a Data Engineer at Ippon, you own the end-to-end delivery of data solutions that drive real business value for our clients. You will design and industrialize scalable data platforms, ensuring robustness, performance, and security from ingestion to consumption. You collaborate closely with business stakeholders and data scientists to translate analytical needs into production-grade pipelines and services. Your work directly supports data-driven decision-making and operational excellence across diverse industries. You will play a key role in shaping the data strategy of our clients through pragmatic and innovative technical solutions. You are expected to challenge existing practices and propose optimized architectures that leverage the latest cloud and data engineering trends. Your contributions will be visible through deployed systems, documented processes, and shared knowledge within the team.
Key facts
What you'll do
- You intervene on client data platforms to develop new data pipelines covering ingestion, processing, and exposure.
- You deploy infrastructure fully as code in the cloud using Terraform and CloudFormation to ensure consistency and repeatability.
- You work with business teams and data scientists to support them in industrializing their data workflows, focusing on testing, continuous integration, scalability, craftsmanship, and observability.
- You contribute to the establishment and promotion of DataOps best practices, including data quality, CI/CD, monitoring, and documentation.
- You participate in internal and external data community events such as BBL, webinars, data meetups, and technology salons.
- You capitalize on your missions and feedback by writing blog articles, sharing retrospectives, and delivering internal training sessions.
- You mentor and support junior profiles within the Data practice to help them grow their skills and confidence.
- You ensure that all delivered solutions comply with governance, security, and cost optimization requirements.
- You actively contribute to the technical roadmap of data projects and propose innovative improvements.
- You implement scalable data processing solutions using distributed computing frameworks such as Spark or Databricks.
- You maintain and optimize SQL-based transformations and data models to guarantee high performance and reliability.
- You set up and manage streaming data architectures with technologies like Kafka, Kinesis, or Debezium for real-time use cases.
Requirements
- You hold a Bac+5 degree with significant experience in Data Engineering.
- You have a strong mastery of cloud environments, including AWS, GCP, or Azure, in production contexts.
- You have already built complex pipelines using dbt and are comfortable with DataOps and Infrastructure-as-Code concepts using Terraform or CloudFormation.
- You master a distributed computing framework such as Spark, Databricks, or Flink, and you are proficient in SQL.
- You have a solid understanding of data storage systems, including SQL and NoSQL databases, with experience in Snowflake or Delta Lake being a distinct advantage.
- You are familiar with data streaming frameworks such as Kafka, Kinesis, or Debezium.
- You are committed to producing high-quality code, sharing best practices, and thriving in an agile and collaborative environment.
- You are comfortable working in an asynchronous, remote-first environment while maintaining clear communication and documentation.
- You have a proven ability to troubleshoot complex data issues and optimize pipeline performance at scale.
- You demonstrate strong ownership, curiosity, and a proactive attitude toward learning and knowledge sharing.
Nice to have
- Experience with data governance, lineage, and metadata management tools.
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of data visualization tools and integration with BI platforms.
- Previous work in regulated industries such as finance or healthcare.
