About the role
The Quantitative Researcher will analyze the crypto market to discover profitable trading opportunities and construct automated trading strategies. This role owns the design and implementation of market-making, arbitrage, and systematic strategies from initial concept through execution. The hire will develop and maintain signal-generation pipelines, feature stores, and parameter-optimization tooling to support reproducible research. They will build and operate data pipelines and research platforms that ensure high-quality, scalable, and reliable outputs. The position requires developing robust backtesting frameworks and conducting thorough performance analysis and attribution to validate strategy effectiveness. The researcher will implement risk monitoring and control systems across various strategies and trading venues while running post-trade analytics to evaluate execution quality, slippage, and market impact.

- Run simulations and estimate market impact for both liquid and illiquid assets to assess feasibility and optimize execution.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align research objectives with business goals and support product development initiatives.
- Iterate on existing models and frameworks based on performance insights, incorporating new data sources and methodological advances.
- Document research processes, assumptions, and results to ensure transparency and enable knowledge transfer across the organization.
- Contribute to the broader research community by sharing findings, proposing improvements, and supporting peer review of methodologies.
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and technical planning to maintain high standards across engineering and research practices.

Requirements
- Hold an M.S. or Ph.D. in Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
- Bring 3-5 years of experience in quantitative research, analysis, or development within finance or technology.
- Demonstrate hands-on experience with high-frequency trading development and low-latency system implementation.
- Possess a strong foundation in probability, statistics, time-series modeling, and quantitative methods essential for research.
- Show expert-level proficiency in Python for research and production, with additional proficiency in C++ or Rust for performance-critical components.
- Maintain a solid grasp of data structures, algorithms, software engineering principles, and version control to support scalable development.
- Have demonstrable experience with statistical analysis, backtesting methodologies, and strategy development in live or simulated environments.
- Exhibit the ability to create and use algorithms to investigate large datasets and resolve data or logic errors with rigor and precision.
- Understand financial markets, trading concepts, and risk management principles to ensure strategies align with real-world constraints.
