About the role

You will own the end to end development of our React Native mobile application that powers premier decentralized finance trading for a global user base. You will translate product and design requirements into robust, production grade mobile experiences using TypeScript and modern React patterns. This role gives you direct ownership of the trading journey from the user interface down to integration with backend services that power Injective's DeFi primitives. You will collaborate daily with product, design, and backend teams to iterate quickly and deliver reliable features in a fast moving environment. Your work will directly influence how millions of users interact with on chain finance on a high performance mobile stack. You will investigate and resolve issues reported through Linear while ensuring the stability and reliability of the application for all users. Most importantly, you will bring passion for exceptional user experiences and a deep curiosity about the future of decentralized finance.

What you'll do

• Develop, maintain, and improve features for our React Native mobile application across iOS and Android platforms.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Backend Engineering teams to deliver high quality user experiences that meet business goals.
• Build scalable, maintainable, and well tested mobile applications using React Native and TypeScript with a focus on clean architecture.
• Integrate mobile applications with backend APIs and services, ensuring reliable communication and data consistency.
• Optimize application performance, responsiveness, and reliability to provide a smooth trading experience on a wide range of devices.
• Monitor and triage issues reported through Linear, investigate root causes, and work with the team to prioritize and resolve them efficiently.
• Take ownership of reported issues by driving troubleshooting efforts and delivering reliable fixes that uphold our quality standards.
• Participate in code reviews to share knowledge, enforce best practices, and improve the overall quality of the codebase.
• Stay up to date with modern mobile development practices, tooling, and emerging technologies relevant to fintech and blockchain applications.
• Implement features that align with the product roadmap while considering constraints such as security, compliance, and user privacy.
• Work with backend engineers to define and consume APIs that enable seamless interaction with on chain services and data.
• Support the deployment of mobile releases, ensuring proper validation and monitoring post launch where applicable.
• Contribute to long term technical initiatives that enhance scalability, maintainability, and developer experience.
• Help mentor and guide less experienced team members through pair programming, constructive feedback, and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• Bring 2 to 5 years of professional software engineering experience with a strong track record of delivering software.
• Demonstrate strong React and TypeScript fundamentals with a portfolio of work that showcases your understanding of these technologies.
• Have professional experience developing mobile applications with React Native, including shipping real features to users.
• Show a solid understanding of iOS and Android platforms, including their differences and mobile development best practices.
• Prove experience integrating applications with backend APIs using standard protocols and data formats.
• Bring familiarity with Node.js environments and runtime characteristics relevant to mobile integrations.
• Have experience working with REST APIs to consume services and manage data flows in mobile clients.
• Experience with gRPC and or Server Sent Events is a strong plus for handling advanced communication patterns.
• Maintain a strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including clean code, testing, and version control.
• Show excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail when diagnosing issues and implementing solutions.
• Must be fluent in English to communicate effectively with product, design, and engineering teams.
• Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with cross functional teams in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.

Nice to have

• Experience building fintech, trading, or cryptocurrency applications that involve on chain interactions or wallet integrations.
• Familiarity with blockchain, Web3, or DeFi technologies and an understanding of how these systems impact mobile user experiences.
• Experience publishing applications to the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, including managing releases and updates.
• Experience optimizing mobile application performance and debugging production issues using monitoring tools and real user data.

Practical notes

The role operates full time with remote friendly flexibility in hours to accommodate collaboration across time zones. Global team meet ups are organized periodically to strengthen collaboration and culture.
